Workers Compensation
For example, in a case where the trial court vacated a jury verdict of $850,000 in our client’s favor, we appealed the trial court’s decision. The Supreme Court reinstated the jury’s verdict, and our client was ultimately able to collect not only the original $850,000 awarded but nearly $100,000 more in interest and costs. In a premises liability case, where the trial court improperly mixed a workers compensation claim with a third party claim, we were able to settle a $1,000,000+ action utilizing the appellate court’s mediation process. In a medical malpractice case where the trial court granted a directed verdict for the defendants, we obtained a reversal of the trial court’s decision and a new trial.
Employment Discrimination
Labor and employment law is one of the fastest growing and rapidly evolving areas in the practice of law, and the firm keeps its employer and the employee clientele on the cutting edge of the latest developments. A native of Hampton Roads, Mrs. Warren graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1996, where she majored in English with a concentration in Psychology. In 2000, she graduated from Regent University School of Law, where she focused her studies on Alternative Dispute Resolution. Since 2001, Mrs. Warren has provided ADR services in both family and commercial matters, including real estate matters, as she is also a licensed Realtor. In addition, Mrs. Warren has taught numerous ADR courses through Old Dominion University both locally and abroad, in addition to providing team-building training and Managing Workplace Conflict courses to businesses and organizations throughout Virginia.

Premises liability claims may arise from a slip and fall in a grocery store, parking lot, shopping center, hotel, or sports stadium. Most such locations carry liability insurance for such claims, and the firm draws on its 30 years of collective experience in handling premises liability claims to evaluate each claim as early as possible, by investigating the underlying circumstances and establishing the necessary proof promptly so as to resolve each claim as expeditiously as possible.
