Hertz

The manager, Andrew, is a shady liar. I was in a car accident that was not my fault. Once the insurance company of the guy that hit me accepted liability, they told me I had a rental reservation at Hertz for 5 days. When I dropped my car off and went to Hertz for my rental, I voiced a concern to Andrew. The collision shop quoted me 7 days for repairs and I was concerned that if I went over the 5 allotted days that the insurance company wouldn't pay and I'd have to. Andrew assured me that I wouldn't pay a dime, even though I HAD to provide a credit card. 7 days later my car was fixed and when I dropped the rental car off, Andrew was the cashier again. I asked him again if I was to be charged for the additional 2 days and once again he assured me that he would contact the insurance company and ask for the balance for the 2 additional days. He handed me a receipt for 108.83 and said I wouldn't be charged, BUT if the insurance company refused to pay I would have to pay and go after the insurance company for the 108.83. He punched my card number into the computer 45 minutes after I left, charging me the 108.83 without even calling the insurance company. I know this because I called the insurance company after seeing the charges and they informed me that Andrew had not called at all. I called Andrew asking for an explanation as to why he lied to my face 2 times and he told me that I "misunderstood" him, that the insurance company needs to call the claims department for the money. When I asked how the insurance company would even know I went over unless he called and why it was my responsibility to call he told me that he was a separate entity from Hertz (what??) and he didn't even see charges made, blah blah blah. Long story short, they will lie to you and try to rip you off. I would NOT recommend this Hertz location at all.
