Strawtown Auction Barn

THIS IS THE FIRST REWIEW I HAVE EVER WROTE IT IS THAT BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The WORST auction i have ever been went to. The are sooooooo slow!!!!. We were at the live stock barn. They even have a computer and are still the slowest i have been to. You cannot hear the auctioneer execpt for every now and then you will here, umm a dollar ummmm, ummmm seven dollars. You really dont know what the price is. Then we have the problem that if someone in their circle wants what you have to sale they will hold it out untill the very end. We asked the guy that took in our baby chicks why did they sell everything off the two carts but ours. He said thats what happens around here sometimes. They opened all of the other boxes and looked in side, moved things around then they tooked the two carts off the floor and put our three unopened boxes on the floor up front by the wall. There they sat with cold baby chicks inside for a nother hour and a half. So my husband walked throught the back to the selling ring and picked up our boxes and left. By this time 3/4 the people are gone. Before we left two people came looking for us outside because they were waiting to bid on them, so we sold them some of our chicks. They also saw what they were doing with the boxes. Just before we were going out of the barn door a woman asked if she could buy some chicks also, we said yes. She wouldnt even pay a dollar each...... Guess what she got nothing! We think we know who wanted the cheep chicks!!! We will NOT go back

Have attended the Strawtown auction on numerous occasions, and enjoyed seeing the animals, tack and accessories being sold there. Have purchased many chickens, ducks, several goats and a large pony there, and have found the establishment and staff to be professional and friendly. Be aware that if you attend and love animals, you probably will be taking something home with you! Hard not to...there's always something being sold that one feels one just must have...if you can relate. Went with a friend who "only" had six dollars on him...and he left with four nice chickens! Have to love that... :)
