Dental Examination
Getting regular dental cleaning (dental prophylaxis) is essential for good oral hygiene. It allows your dentist to get a good look at what’s going on with your teeth so they can catch and treat potential issues like cavities or gingivitis early. It also keeps your teeth and gums healthy! During your appointment, you will receive a complete oral exam and a few common dental cleaning techniques.

Teeth Cleaning
Removal of calculus (tartar): Calculus is hardened plaque that accumulates on the tooth surface both above and below the gum line. Tartar can only be removed with special dental instruments.

Dental implants are metal anchors, usually made of titanium, that are surgically placed into the jawbone to hold permanent replacement teeth, bridges, or dentures. At Flawless Dental, placement of implants is done by Dr. Crohin using local anesthesia. You will receive specific post-surgical instruction to ensure the best possible healing. After your implant is placed, you will receive a removable appliance. Three to six months after the placement of dental implants, your replacement tooth, bridge, or dentures will be placed.

Dr. Shahrzad Khorashadi, orthodontist, graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2009 and completed her orthodontic specialty training at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in 2013. Prior to pursuing orthodontic training, she practiced general dentistry for children and adults and served as a part-time clinical instructor at Harvard’s teaching clinic. Dr. Khorashadi is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics and has a professional affiliation with the American Dental Association. She’s a premier provider of Invisalign and Brius.

At Harvard, she graduated at the top of her class, earning the esteemed Gold Medal Award, among many other honors. Upon graduation, Dr. Kelley completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Washington, D.C. and served for the next several years in the United States Air Force (rising to the rank of Major) before entering into private practice in the Boston area. She considers her service in the U.S. Air Force both an honor and a privilege.
