Founded in 1975, El Club Del Barrio is a community-based, nonprofit corporation that serves the residents of northern New Jersey. It provides an array of social and behavioral health care services to individuals affected with HIV/AIDS and people with disabilities. The corporation offers HIV prevention, children and women s health services. El Club Del Barrio provides a range of after-school and summer day camp programs to more than 150 students in kindergarten through grade eight. It offers academic, cultural enrichment, community service, recreational, counseling, parent resource and nutritional programs. The corporation also provides computer instruction, health education and leadership skills development programs for the students of middle and high schools. Its food pantry is a monthly food distribution program that serves over 70 families in collaboration with the New Jersey Community Food Bank. In addition, El Club Del Barrio offers educational and direct assistance services for HIV-infected individuals and general people. It is located in Newark, N.J.
