SHAME ON YOU!

I thought that when they opened this store in my area it would have lived up to the standards of all the Manhattan chains but I was hit with a reality check today.

I check the expiration date on EVERYTHING. So, when I saw that ALL of the deodorants had an expiration date of Janary 2015, I brought it to the attention of the closest sales person. That person was talking to another worker and said okay and rolled her eyes at me. When I went into aisle to continue browsing. I was just gonna sip my ☕tea and keep it moving when a worker ran out from another aisle laughing to someone else. The giggling worker said, "yo a customer just said that all the deodorants are expired." The person she was taking to said, "uh huh! I told them but when I tell them, they tell me to pack it out anyway." I shook my head and said wow. The lady heard me and said, "oh you saying wow cuz you heard what I said?" I said yep because I'm the customer your friend is talking about.

When I went to the register to check out, I heard a few other workers buzzing about the expired product. So what did Rayna do? ... I asked to speak to a manager because it's clear that everyone is aware of the expired products in this store except the trustworthy consumer.

Would you believe that when I told the cashier why I wanted to speak to the manager she looked at me like I was crazy before saying "Well, I don't be looking at the expiration date when I buy deodorant sooo I don't know miss." I said well honey when you have sensitive skin like I do, you pay attention to dates because when and if you have an allergic reaction, you want to be able to identify the cause or better yet when your deodorant doesn't work, you will know why. Is the manager coming? ... She paged him again. He called but never came out so I told her I would bring the product so that he can know which one it is when he comes out because I have to get back to work. I brought as much and my hands could hold - all expired - and left them at the register.

Moral of the story: Be a conscious consumer. Don't expect the retailer to be on top of their game when products expire. YOU look out for you and if you see something, say something (nicely).

Oh, and I won't be going back there!
