Dental Examination
We recommend oral examinations and comprehensive evaluations every six months for all patients. During these visits, one of our dentists will conduct a visual inspection of your mouth, head, and neck to check for abnormal tissue growth and other signs of potential problems. We also examine your teeth, gums, and jaw, taking x-rays when needed to find instances of decay and bone recession.

Oral Cancer Screening
This means supporting you in your home oral hygiene efforts and seeing you every six months to check for potential problems with the gums, teeth, and jaw. It means listening carefully to your concerns and working together to find solutions. As part of our preventive care, we conduct oral cancer screenings at each visit and take imaging when needed to identify areas of decay and bone loss.

Teeth Cleaning
A dental cleaning,also known as an oral prophylaxis, is an important part of your biannual dental visit. We use specialized tools to remove deposits of dental plaque and tartar from the surfaces of your teeth. Once your teeth are cleaned, we polish them to leave them feeling smooth and looking their best.

Resin Composite
Next, the dental crown that we’ve designed is sent to our in-office milling machine, which uses a solid piece of tooth-colored composite resin or ceramic material to carve your restoration. The result is a crown that is durable, aesthetic, functional, and well-fitted––the perfect combination of form and function. We bond the restoration to your tooth using a special dental cement, then cure it with an ultraviolet light. After we place your crown, you’ll be able to leave our office and enjoy your beautiful new smile.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a solution for patients who are unhappy with the color, shape, or size of their teeth. They can even be used to correct minor cases of misalignment. We first remove a thin layer of enamel from your tooth, then apply a dental adhesive for the veneer to adhere to. An ultraviolet light cures the adhesive and you’re ready to enjoy your new smile.

Bridges
When three or more adjacent teeth are missing, we can use an implant supported bridge as a restorative solution. More economical than replacing each individual missing tooth with its own implant, an implant supported bridge places two implants in the jaw and uses them to hold in place a porcelain bridge between them. Dental Bonding
Cosmetic bonding is used to correct teeth that are chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged. We can also use bonding to close gaps between two teeth. Root Canal Treatment
Some discomfort is normal for 2 to 4 days following root canal therapy. In some cases the tooth and surrounding tissue may be sore for a few weeks following treatment.

Deep Cleaning
Brush and floss gently following a deep cleaning, resuming normal brushing and flossing when the soreness is gone.

Dentures
At night you should remove your dentures and clean them. They should be stored in a clean container filled with denture cleaning solution.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Some pain, bleeding, swelling, and seeping are normal following oral surgery. Please do not try to view the site by pulling on your lip and do not probe the area with your tongue or fingers. If you experience excessive bleeding or discomfort after 48-72 hours, please call our office immediately.
Tooth Extractions
Immediately following surgery, maintain pressure on the surgical area by biting down on the provided gauze pad or roll until the bleeding stops. A certain amount of bleeding is to be expected following a surgical procedure. Placing the gauze pad over the area and biting firmly will help prevent excessive bleeding. Replace the gauze as necessary until the bleeding stops.

Braces
You should brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day at a minimum. If you have braces, you will likely need to brush your teeth a bit longer and more frequently. Floss at least once a day, ideally at night so you can remove debris from between your teeth before going to sleep. In some cases, we may also recommend adding fluoride or other specialized rinses to your daily routine.
