I bought 2 accent chairs on 8/16 that were on back order until 8/23. The salesman, James Brown, said he would call when my chairs came in, as we were picking them up from the store. Since the 23rd, I have called three times and he told me my chairs were not in. I called again on Friday, 9/9 and the girl who answered the phone checked and said they were there, and had been there since the Wednesday before. I realize my small purchase was no big deal to Mr. Brown, but he knew I was waiting on those chairs. I still have not received a call from him. We went in today, 9/12 to pick up the chairs and saw him at the door. My husband said, "Thanks for calling us about our chairs." He said, "What chairs?" Unbelievable! As we were walking away, he and another salesperson started laughing. Needless to say, I will NEVER shop there again! James Brown, shame on you!

The shopping experience itself was excellent. The service was friendly, and the salesperson knowledgeable. It was at the delivery and installation that things went downhill. First, our bed was delivered without the necessary hardware to put the frame together. Then, when the hardware was brought to us, we were told that the slats that had come with it were wrong. We were then told that we'd have to wait a week for the right slats to come in, however, after some complaining, the manager was able to supply us a temporary fix. After a month of waiting, our slats finally came in, and when the guy came and installed them, rather than using the proper bolts to tighten them down, he used a couple of sheet rock screws (in places that didn't even have pre-drilled holes) to put them in. If, and when, this entire situation is resolved, I will never shop Ashley Furniture direct again, nor do I recommend it.
