Sumo Japanese Steakhouse

We came there on mothers day and immediately asked how long the wait was. We were told 25 minutes, which is why we decided to wait. 45 minutes later, they told us 10 more minutes. 5 minutes past making this a total of an hour of watching people get in ahead of us, we gave them back their monitor. I had three kids with me, all under 5, one autistic. They ruined my Mothers day by blatantly lying and striking me along while my kids screamed in hunger and boredom. I got in the car in tears. They couldn't pay me to patronize their restaurant again. It will never happen.

Best habbachi and sushi in the area stay away from Mitsuba the suck sumo rocks!

Our family has been going to SUMO since it's opening day! We LOVE it! We're there at least twice a month and even had our daughter's birthday party there. There's both regular table seating and hibachi seating. The food is wonderful and any time we've asked them to describe something on the menu to us they've been very helpful. The one time I didn't like my meal, they took it back to the kitchen and made me a different meal and never charged us.



It is the cleanest restaurant I've ever seen; I've never seen "gnats" in it, as Mrs.BlueEyes claims. The owners take pride in their business. The prices may seem high, but they're actually comparable to other hibachi restaurants or any restaurant that makes food from fresh ingredients as opposed to just re-heating food that has been previously portioned and frozen. Also, the portions are large enough that we never go away hungry and usually have food to bring home.



It can be loud at times, but that's because it is a busy place, generally filled with people who are there to celebrate, hence the gongs and laughter. They've never been rude to us, and we are a "plus-sized" family. We've heard them sing "happy birthday" to many people, so perhaps there was a communication problem with Mrs.BlueEyes. There is a language "barrier" at times, but nothing we haven't been able to work through. They made our daughter's birthday very special, and in fact, my mother is visiting us and we are taking her there right now!

#1 The waitress called my boyfriend fat!!

"Oh can i see your id? Oh wow you got fat! You no more skinny, you really heavy!"



#2 The waitress tried to kill my boyfriend!!

He told her "Please make sure no broccilli, i am very allergic"

His plate was covered with broccilli, they took it back and picked it off.

I know this because he could still taste it on the other food and ended up getting very sick.



#3 It was VERY LOUD

In the other room we kept hearing kongs and people screaming and laughing.

I was very hard to carry a converstion.



#4 The food was EXTREMELY OVER PRICED!!!!

We orderd a bottle of wine, the menu said $15 but I was charged $30!!



#5 The place was dirty!!!

Their were little black nats flying everywhere, even in the food!!!



#6 They didn't sing Happy Birthday to him!!

(Even thou I called twice to make sure they would)
