Louisville Athletic Club

I love LAC, New Albany. I am almost 56 years old and I have been lifting since I was 15 years old. The people at LAC are great! Management and staff are to be commended on their customer friendly acceptance of all personality types. The staff embraces athletic diversity and encourages lifestyle improvement. The facility is clean, orderly, and most importantly....welcoming.

Ok, I had to write this review after reading the previous one. I've been a member for three years now and nothing about that review made any sense. I am a female who is almost 40. I have never had any problems whats so ever. The staff is friendly. Everyone minds their own business. It's mostly middle aged people who are simply going to work out. I have two children who are now in school so I don't have to use the childcare but when they were younger we used the playroom and loved Mrs. Paula. She loved and took very good care of my girls.

This place is poorly run by a bunch of twenty-somethings. Meat-heads abound, and people stand right in front of the weights and machines to socialize, perform sets, and admire themselves. There are a few so-called trainers who are so over the top, it is laughable. If you like seeing water bottles resting on equipment that the owner of the bottle isn't even using, if you like management that doesn't enforce rules, if you like d-bags who work out in Ed Hardy t-shirs and winter hats, and if you like pose-downs in the locker room, this is the place for you. If loud, narcissistic, arm-shaving guys sizing up each other and any other guy who dares enter sounds like a good time, try LAC in New Albany. I was a member for six unfortunate months and couldn't wait to say goodbye to all the foolishness. By the way, bodybuilders, anyone with a modicum of education laughs at you and assumes that you are ignorant, vapid, insecure, and barely capable of reading this.
