        Eric P. Rothenberg concentrates his practice on the practice of tax law including, partnerships, tax free exchanges, sales of businesses, individual tax planning, estate and gift tax planning and tax return preparation. He also represents clients at the IRS, the MA Dept. of Revenue, the U.S. Tax Court and the MA Appellate Tax Board. He counsels clients for corporate tax planning, professional corporations and fringe benefits. He also prepares wills and trusts, partnerships and corporations and limited liability entities (LLP and LLC). Mr. Rothenberg authored tax planning software which was sold nationally to lawyers, CPAs and financial planners. One package computed estate and gift taxes and the other computed income taxes. In addition, he is the author of many articles which have appeared in such professional journals as Taxation for Lawyers, Taxation for Accountants, National Tax Shelter Digest, Taxes, Mass CPA Journal, Digest of Federal Taxes. Mr. Rothenberg has lectured on various tax subjects before professional continuing education courses. Mr. Rothenberg was named one of Massachusetts's Super Lawyers every year since 2004. Mr. Rothenberg received his A.B. from Cornell University in 1973, his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1976 and his M.B.A. from Boston University Graduate School of Management in 1977 (High Honors). He was a licensed CPA for many years and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, the highest rating issued for attorneys.

        Eric Rothenberg is bold and tenacious with an extensive knowledge of real estate, tax and trust law. Hire him.

        I cannot state this strongly enough, Eric Rothenberg is exactly who you want to hire. Eric has laser focus and a reassuring confidence in his knowledge of the law. We were under contract on our dream vacation house. The sellers were trying to back out very close to closing. I reached out to Eric for help and he answered my email immediately. He told me not to worry and he could handle everything. I believe his exact words were, ‘they haven’t got a prayer.’ Our situation was complicated and there were many other lawyers involved, but Eric was always the one who knew the law and wasn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with anyone who tried to put up road blocks. And he did it quickly. I think the speed of his work really kept our cost down and for that I’m truly grateful. I can honestly say we wouldn’t be home owners if Eric hadn’t been there for us. Also, he is always answers a call or an email immediately, day or night. His communication is amazing. We are so lucky we hired him.

        I owed a large amount of back taxes to the IRS. Attorney Rothenberg was able to help me settle a much more manageable payment plan that didn't leave me feeling overwhelmed. He was courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend him to represent any of my friends or family. Thank you.
