Dental Examination

X-rays
Traditional dental X-rays are taken using conventional radiology techqniques, which involve photographic processing and some levels of radiation during image capture. By contrast, digital X-rays are produced using digital imaging technology, making them much safer and more efficient. Low-dose digital X-rays emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional radiography, and the images that are produced can be projected instantly onto a high-definition chairside monitor. Digital X-rays are essential for many treatment planning processes, as well as for routine maintenance and the upkeep of your dental records.

Teeth Cleaning
Cleaning your teeth, both at home and at your dentistâ€™s office, typically focuses on removing oral bacteria and food particles from the visible surfaces of your teeth. That includes cleaning along your gum line (where your gums meet your teeth), which is where certain types of oral bacteria tend to accumulate. However, when bacteria make their way underneath the gum line, conventional brushing, flossing, and teeth cleaning wonâ€™t be able to remove them. Dental Implants

In some cases, patients may choose to extract wisdom teeth before they become impacted to avoid the risks of severe discomfort. Before recommending wisdom tooth extraction, your dentist will perform a comprehensive examination and take detailed X-ray images of your jawbone to determine if itâ€™s the best option. If it is, then your procedureÂ will include minor oral surgery to uncover and remove the impacted tooth structure, and the use of appropriate sedation, if you prefer.
