I went to the SVSC last week with a friend to shoot our rifles, shotguns and pistols. We have never been there so I used my Garmin GPS well if you have one don't believe what it tells you! I took us the back way which is about a 6 mile dirt road full of pot holes and ditches and then half way there we run across a group of people armed and flying a large confederate flag. lol luckily we didn't get into any bad situation. When we finally arrived there we found out there was a turn further down the hi way we could have taken that was paved and was no need to go the way we took. The range was very impressive . They have every kind of set up you could possibly want in an outdoor range. It was clean and well supervised. We had glasses and ear protection which are mandatory , what we didn't have where weapon flags which we had to buy. Cost is about the going rate and you get one free target. They sell ammo there but we brought our own since range ammo tends to be more expensive. up until this point everything was fine. Where things went down hill is my friend brought along a camera bag for his camera and camcorder and had a bunch of memory cards in it including his daughters college graduation pictures. well while we were shooting someone stole his camera case and all that was in it. When we realised what had happened my friend had gone to the office to ask if they had seen his bag. The woman behind the counter brushed him off with a quick no and went about her business and nobody working there seemed the least bit concerned despite that fact he had over one thousand dollars worth of equipment. Seems kind of strange that they'll know if your stepping on the firing line but not notice any suspicious activity going on being there was less than 15 people spread out over the firing line and with "I don't give a s___" attitude to boot"It may be a nice range but they seen the last of our business and I intend on letting everyone I know to stay away from that range and their confederate flag waiving supporters.
