A wood-burning fireplace or stove may be cozy, but creosote buildup can block the flow of smoke and cause chimney fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. In addition, even unused chimneys can develop cracks that weaken the structure. If your chimney has not had a recent inspection, schedule one now before you want to use your fireplace the first time this winter. Figure on roughly $150 to $300 for an inspection and a sweep. Check out Chimney Safety Institute of America for industry-certified chimney sweeps and check Better Business Bureau for complaints. Homeowners can save up to $5,000 if the chimney flue liner cracks and thousands more if there is a fire. You also avoid potentially deadly safety risks.
Skylight Repair/Replacement
Be sure to have your roofer to check the flashing around any chimney or skylights to ensure that it is properly fitted. Damaged and loose flashing can cause damage to your roof and can cause leaks into your home.
Don has been working with us since 2003 and does all of our composite roofs for our room additions. We are very satisfied with his work and attention to detail. I have never had a complaint from a homeowner, just thanks for someone who takes care of the job site as if it was his own.
We have a very extensive and expensive landscaping layout and expected quite a mess from tear off of our roof. Don and his crew went above and beyond to protect all of it and when they finished you almost could not tell they had even been here. I am very pleased and the roof looks great.

7. Windows and Doors: Be sure to check for areas that may need re-caulking. Scrape out the older caulk before re-caulking.
Gutters
Gutter Installation, either new or replacement. Gutters that are removed can be a mess when they are full of granules, leaves, trash and debris. Once removed, they cannot be effectively reinstalled, since they will bend and break upon removal. Our gutters are either 5″ or the oversize 6″, seamless, and come in 18 colors. They are made on site from a flat roll of aluminum and installed with hidden hangers and screws, rather than the large unsightly spikes. We pay special attention to making sure angles are perfect, so your gutters will drain properly, and to verify an adequate number and placement of downspouts.
Garage Door Repair/Replacement
Siding
6. Siding: You many want to invest in a power washer and spray your home’s siding. Spraying will remove any accumulation of mildew and mold. Also check for any peeling paint. You will want to scrap and then add a primer before repainting the area.

Residential Roof Inspection
Shoutout to Don Rutherford and Northwest Roofing!!!! And to Peggy Scott for introducing us!!! After the storm in June, she posted to the neighborhood that Don was offering free roof inspections. We decided to take him up on his offer, and the rest, as they say, is history. He replaced our roof, redid shoddy workmanship from the previous owner’s roofer and from the contractor who built our gazebo, and added vents which will significantly improve our A/C unit’s performance. And he did all this with impeccable workmanship and good, honest customer service! He and his crew also did a bang-up job of clearing up when the work was done! I highly recommend this guy!!!! Can’t sing his praises enough!!
Roof Vents
Remember, soffit vents are the intake, roof vents are the exhaust; just like your car, one without the other will not work. Call or Contact Us today!
Add extra insulation in the attic to guard against ice dams. When too much heat escapes, it can melt the ice and snow on the roof. When it refreezes, it can cause an ice dam, causing water to back up into your home causing damage to your walls.
