One week after my daughter's car accident I received a certified letter notification in my mailbox so I went to the post office and waited in line for 30 minutes. When I opened the letter, it was from Martin Services informing me that our car had been towed and it listed their fees. Firstly, I was frustrated that I spent my lunch break waiting for the letter since we had picked up our car 3 business days earlier and secondly because they charged me $50 for the certified letter. I understand that The state of Texas requires towing companies to send the notification but they should have sent it out earlier and it should not cost $50 for a certified letter. I've sent certified letters in the past and they cost around two dollars. I realize $50 isn't very much money to some people but it's the principle of the matter and I feel like they are taking advantage of people in a bad situation.
