Kar Towing

Dishonest company employing predatory techniques when it comes to fees. According to Virginia law § 46.2-1231 towing company cannot tow the car if owner is present and cannot charge unhook fee above $25. Not only they refused to honor the law, they went ahead hooked the car up and demanded $160... These guys do not care what the law is.

Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this section, if the owner or representative or agent of the owner of the trespassing vehicle is present and removes the trespassing vehicle from the premises before it is actually towed, the trespassing vehicle shall not be towed, but the owner or representative or agent of the owner of the trespassing vehicle shall be liable for a reasonable fee, not to exceed $25 or such other limit as the governing body of the county, city, or town may set by ordinance, in lieu of towing.

Dishonest company. They towed my vehicle although i was parked in a marked vistor parking space. They then put a dent in the pasanger door side of my vehicle. When i asked what they were willing to do about it. They simply grinned and shrugged their shoulders. I told them that I had no choice but to report the incident to law enforcement. When I did they then told me they have video of all tows but it would cost me 50.00 to view the video. I told them they could bring it to court and ask the judge for the 50.00 for him to view. At this point the representative in his office became beligerent cussing and acting in a threatening manner. After he told me to leave he had the audacity to call the police which i cleared the situation back at the office with after he gave obvious false testimony. All this was unnecessary except because they hold your car they seem to think they can abuse people and charge predetory fees. Very unprofessional and beligerent behavior throughout the process.

KAR towing is great. I had a flat and they showed up in about 30 minutes, fixed it, and I was good to go. I'll use them again if I ever need it.

These guys are awesome. I had a dead battery that would not jump. I first called them to see if they could take my car to get the battery replace which would go for about 100$, but instead they sent a service truck with a jump pack and got it working! Free of charge! Excellent service.

This company provides very fast, expert service. The operator I had (Sunday afternoon, June 26) was courteous and professional. My tow was from Waynesboro to Harrisonburg and the cost was very reasonable. My Jetta TDI is a great car. At 163,000 miles, I guess it's OK for the alternator to die. Whitmer's Tires got a new Bosch replacement and it was back on the road Monday afternoon, getting it's customary 47 mpg!!

I would definitely recommend K.A.R. towing for any car troubles you are having. I locked my keys in my trunk and they helped me out with no problem. My friend and I were at Buffalo Wild Wings last night. We went to leave and realized that we had locked the car doors, with the keys inside! We decided to call KAR Towing and have them come unlock the doors. It wasn't a long wait at all, and the man Mike from KAR was extremely nice! Thanks a lot Mike and KAR Towing for coming to our rescue at almost 2 in the morning!

I was completely impressed with KAR Towing. I had a flat tire while camping 3 hours from home. Mike found us in our remote location, was prompt and friendly. He changed the tire and then recommended a place to have the original tire fixed so that we would be safe on our trip home. He was able to follow us about half way there to be sure the spare would be okay to get to the repair company. Thank you for the extra care and fast service!!

Very fast, friendly and accommodating. My care broke down on Route 33 east of H'burg. Mike showed up within 20 min. hooked my car and then went out of his way to get my kid back to campus and my other son and I to a place to wait for a ride. I have had a few experiences over the years with tow drivers and not one comes even close to the first class treatment Mike provided my family and I. Thanks Mike!!

I had my car towed from Charleston Town Homes, and it sat for 4 days at $35 a day that added up to $140 on top of the $125 towing fee and they took off the $140 charge!! All I paid was the tow fee. They were awesome and very mindful of how expensive it is. Thanks K.A.R tow!

Me and my friend had car problems today on campus at JMU. Mike drove all the way to campus, got the car started and DIDN'T CHARGE US! He made a terrible and annoying situation the best it could be. Could not be a nicer guy. He said he has teenage daughters and understands people get stuck in bad situations and just wanted to help us out. I came home and FIRST thing I did was write this review because we both feel so strongly about how he helped two people who know nothing about cars free of charge just out of kindness. Great guy. Student or not, this guy should be your first call with car problems.

After a crazy morning and a million things yet too do I leave Martins on my way to complete my tasks and find I've locked my keys in my car. You came quickly, were friendly, and awesome. In my car in 2 minutes. Thank you for your help and and making a bad start to the day a lot better.

I locked my keys in my car and called every towing company in town and all of them gave me ridiculous prices to unlock my car. Then I called Kar's towing and they told me they'd do it for free the next morning, I couldn't believe it. Mike was real friendly and genuinely was looking to help. I really appreciate it and just wanted to say thanks a lot.

I was stuck on 33 and called you guys and it did not take long for you guys to show up. When you did, you helped me so much by getting my car out of the road and then found what was really wrong with my car. I just want to really thank you so much for all that you did
