I had an alternator and belt replaced on a 2003 Jetta April 2014. This business works on a 100% mark up on parts needed for repair plus $75.00 an hour labor rate is approaching new car dealership labor rates.The car was picked up after the repair and the power steering pump was making noise. After checking the power steering fluid it was observed being nearly empty. I suppose the power steering pump was removed to facilitate the alternator replacement and the fluid leaked out. This was never checked after the repair. I had to purchase European automotive power steering fluid at a cost of approximately $23.00. To make a long story short the alternator cost charged to me was $702.00 total plus the extra $23,00 for the power steering fluid.The guy there said "he's entitled to a profit" I strongly reccommend getting an estimate before letting this shop do any meaningful work on your automobile.
