I was arrested for drunk and disorderly after I went out drinking with my buddy John (he'd bought me a bottle of Jack). I was promptly bailed out by Herbert Bail Bonds. Fred is a true professional and and all around great guy. We have since become good friends. He even referred me to National Male Medical when I told him my erection needed correction.

There's a lot of things in life that don't make sense, bail bonds and things like that. However, I was indeed able to know what the bail bonds business was all about after this particular experience. I had to bail my brother out (he's a certified ticket agent who lives in Florida). I happened to be staying at a guesthouse in Windermere, in the United Kingdom, watching the tellyvision when I found out. Thankfully, somebody had patched me through to HBB (thank you Ron). Frederick recommended that I come to his office. I dropped everything and took a connecting flight to Macon, Georgia to get to California so I could bail somebody out in Florida. Who knew.

Public intoxication. Sitting or lying in the public waaays.

The professionals at Herbert Bail Bonds have helped me out on two separate occasions within the past year. For their assistance during those challenging time I am immensely grateful, and I hope anyone who finds themselves in police custody anywhere in LA County gives the gentleman at HBB a call. A few notes about my experiences-If at all possible, ask to speak with John or Fred. Both of these gentleman are consummate professionals and are very patient over the phone. My first phone call to HBB was to a bondsman named Mike, who promptly hung up on me when I couldn't tell him what my phone number was (despite the fact that I was calling from inside an LASD substation, and therefore couldn't possibly know what my outgoing number was). If by chance Mike does answer the phone (you'll know right away, he has a distinctly annoying, nasally voice), promptly ask to speak with Mr. Titter or Mr. Fred Herbert. I am convinced that unlike Mike, these men are actually licensed bondsman.

I'm a lifelong pothead, can't stop lighting up the green herb. Needless to say the law has picked me up many times. Thankfully I have the invaluable services of Herbert Bail Bonds who continue to keep me a free man and blazing the ganja. One time while I was in Fred's office he regaled me of his previous life as a law enforcer for the Upland Police Department in 1970. He told me how he and his fellow officers stole weed right out of the evidence locker! What a badass! I asked him if he wanted to do a little "puff, puff, pass" session. I needed to bail my brother out of Walnut the other day. I called Fred Herbert and the first thing he asked me was Whats your name and phone number and your brothers name? I gave him the info and he said Come to my office! on 147 North Euclid Avenue, in Upland. When I arrived he was just getting off the phone, Yeah Ill take the pepperoni with extra cheese, thank you he exclaimed, presumably to a local pizzeria. Once we got down to brass tacks, he was very professional. Can I get some $500? he asked. I told him Id be back in two minutes with the money. What!? Two Years!? he shouted. I explained that he misunderstood me and he said Oh okay, cause youre telling me two years ago. I think the poor guy might be going a little deaf from blowing on his police whistle so often.

They're good, but Fred definitely has some ego issues. Upon mentioning the seriousness of the situation, he informed me that his name's Fred Herbert and he's a bail bondsman - guy thinks he's Heisenberg or something. He even went as far as calling other bondsman amateurs. But at least the guy knows what the bail bonds business is all about, he's seen it all - 20 year olds, 60 year olds (in age), bestiallity, you name it.

Freddy Herbert is a very respected individual. When his assistant John read the receipt wrong, Freddy apologized for anything that happened and said I was a gentleman. I still have his bus sign from Las Vegas. He also has the funniest voicemail where he forgot who he works for! I should know. I'm his intelligent twin brother.

When I was arrested in front of the condos at Redhill Green, I immediately knew who to call. I remembered a conversation a long time ago with Fred (he is an acquaintance of mine). He told me many stories about his time in law enforcement and what the bail bonds business was all about. Anyway, I called him from the Walnut jail. He initially thought I was some guy named "Gregory Stevens", then he thought I was "actually [his] voice". Fortunately, he then quickly remembered MY voice. The process from that point on was smooth and without controversy. Once I was bailed out, he jokingly asked if I was "taking some kind of drugs or drinking". As a symbol of gratitude, I ordered him a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese. He had already drank 13 drinks that day, so he definitely needed something in his stomach. His agent John is a riot, by the way. He read a receipt wrong in front of us, he was really embarrassed.

I saw Mr Herbert shooting at some Mexican fellows who were taking a bit to much interest in his plants! He has a firey temper but a heart of gold and a belly full of 13 drinks today!

Fred helped me with a sneaky DUI for Drink or Drugs! I was in custody for 2 YEARS! Big Fred even offered me a place to stay at his friend David Malony's Guesthouse, but it was too far for me to travel! Overall Frederick is a great chap but kept refering to me as "Homie" and "Walnut" and could often be seen sitting under a tree outside his office smoking weed or talking to his plant!

Fred is a wonderful man, I called him for bail and he came right out to bail me out. After that we went to his office and thats when he started talking to his plant and told me he had 13 drinks that day. Still, top notch guy.
