Grass4sale.com review. Horrible and dishonest company with no ethics. ordered sod on website which makes them look responsible and reputable but that is a lie. order was processed and my payment was withdrawn from my bank account very quickly with a set scheduled delivery date but 2 days prior to expected delivery they call and say that sod will not be cut and ready for delivery for another week. they had no alternative options to offer me for this mistake on their end so I cancelled my order and was told that my money would be refunded in 5-10 business. after waiting the 10 days and not receiving the refund i was unable to get any response from them so i disputed through my bank for refund and now they claim they delivered the product on the scheduled date which is a bold faced lie. They even sent me an email with the cancellation number indicating that a refund would be issued but still never happened.

I have been going in circles with James Walker and his secretary, Barbara Bonnet over grass that I purchased from his company back in June of this year but never received. The grass was supposed to be available for pickup on June 18th at King Ranch Turfgrass in Arlington.   I received an email on June 17 stating that the grass I  had ordered would not be available for pick up because of the weather and the inability to harvest it.    After I received the email, I called Barb (apparently the only person who works in the office suggested by the hr long hold I have been put on countless times) and asked her to have it delivered to King Ranch Turfgrass on July 9th. I now know that the grass did, in fact, ship on June 18th despite the email stating otherwise.  I never received an email/call stating that my grass was ready for pick up on June 18 or July 9.  When I went to King Ranch Turfgrass on July 9th (per my request since I was told that I needed to schedule a new pick up date) the grass was not there.  After all of the run-around from his company,  I decided to purchase my grass directly from King Ranch Turfgrass.  I informed Barb that I needed to cancel my order through their company.  Despite never receiving our product from grass4sale.com, we were still charged $183.52.  After being refused our refund,  I spoke with Kylie, King Ranch's office manager, and she said that since the grass was never picked up,  grass4sale.comwas never charged for the grass delivered to them.   In light of this information, (grass4sale.com were not charged,  and I did not receive their product) I expected a full refund of $183.52.  I posted the above information on grass4sale.com's face book page after James refused to return my calls/emails/messages left with Barb.  On 9/30, I received am email from barb stating that we would get our refund and she wouldmail us all of the paperwork.  The paperwork never came.  Emails went unanswered.  I called and waited on hold 1hr and 40 min before being "disconnected".  I attempted to leave voicemails only to find that the voice mail was full.  I called again for probably the 5-8th time and got to speak with Barb.  I asked her if she had mailed the paperwork out yet and was told, "no.  James has decided not to help you out with your refund because of a derogatory comment I had posted on Facebook".  Again, the message I posted was almost verbatim what I typed above.

DO NOT HIRE THS COMPANY. I ordered grass from this company and then paid to have it installed. They delivered the grass on time, but no one came out to install it. The next day I contacted them and they said I never ordered the install. I emailed them the paperwork and they said someone would be out the next day. I told them to take the grass since by then it would be way past the 24 hr install time. Eventually we agreed that they would install it but give me a 2 year warranty. The installer shows up with 4 kids, aged 17, 14, 12, 13 and two dogs running loose all over my front and backyard. I called the company to ask if he was insured and no one at the company could tell me. So I asked the installer and he refused to answer me. I also told him he couldn't have the 12 and 13 year old working because they were a liability. He said they were his cousins and I told him I can't allow it. He could work but they can't. He threw his wheelbarrow at my fence and stormed off. Oh and the grass they were installing, it was all yellow. Now the company refuses to install or accept the grass back and is threatening to put a lien on my house. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

The absolute worse company out there!! They did extensive damage to a investment property when delivering sod. They admitted liability, said they would fix it, then cut off all contact. They have even left vulgar voicemails on my phone. Go to a competitor and don't do business with grass4sale.com

Horrible people to do business with; I wish I had checked them out before I ordered. Communication is poor; service is deplorable; and the product is inferior (brown grass). Do NOT waste money with these people. You will be sorry if you buy from them.

I'm probably going to sound like the owner of grass4sale, that's how happy I am with my purchase. Not only was it the cheapest sod I found (believe me I called everyone over the course of a month) but it was the best quality grass I've ever seen. So thick and green and not one single bug or dead square in the entire 6 pallets. You could tell that it had just been harvested. Even the next day when we went to finish the job the remaining sod on the pallets sitting over night and the next day were still green and fresh looking. I didn't have much contact with customer service so I cannot speak on that although I wish there were more communication as to what is happening with my order. I did receive an email when it was being shipped and luckily I was checking my emails constantly so I saw it right away. I suspect there's probably one person in charge of all customer service. If you have a pressing issue call the number, do not use the online chat. As for delivery, this is where you need to decide if it's worth saving money. I was delighted with my delivery. I paid for the cheap option with 1-3 weeks delivery estimate. I received my sod in 2 days. It did come around 6pm which was okay with me living in hot Houston weather. The driver forklifted it right onto my driveway where I asked. The only reason delivery worked for me was because I had a crew of family members helping out who were available on standby. If you are hiring a crew do not go with this option unless they can show up by at least the next day with just a phone call.

Horrible, horrible experience. I paid for expedited shipping and was given a choice of delivery dates. I chose one - and they didn't show up. I contacted them asking for an update, it took 2 days for them to respond, and gave me a delivery date 2 days from then. Again, they did not show up. They did arrive late in the evening on the following day. The driver tore up a good portion of the sod by incorrectly loading the pallets on the forklift. I sent an email requesting that I be reimbursed the difference in standard and expedited shipping but received no reply. I began installing the sod and found that it was not "fresh cut the day it's delivered"..it had been on the pallet for some time and most of it was not only yellow, it was dry and dead. I contacted them again asking about the shipping refund AND the poor quality of the grass AND the damaged portion. I even sent pictures. After a few days they replied "the grass is fine" and to submit a warranty claim after 5 weeks if the grass didn't green up. They did not address the shipping question or the damaged squares. I contacted them 3 more times and was unable to get any response whatsoever. Do not use this company!

I was called to fix there forklift at a customer house on Sunday night 6pm the drive tell he broke down at 9am I be able to fix it there said try in drive 40 mi got it on trailer for them and only changed $235 she the check in mail sent 4days later 4 weeks no check there will not answer my call text or emails all I want to if going to pay me . I would NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

First I re-scheduled an order because of weather. The delivery showed up anyways despite 5 days notice on my part. After that I was weary of their organization. So the week of my new delivery date I called several times to make sure everything was on track. I was assured everything was fine the day before and the day of delivery. I had a crew waiting all day until I was told at 4:30pm that the grass was set to be delivered the following Tuesday. Besides the fact I had to pay a crew for nothing, I work Tuesdays! I asked that they cover the install. After several follow up calls they determined that they would not meet with me half way and they cancelled my order without asking. So I was left with a dirt lawn prepped and ready to go that needed grass before the next rain. The Zoysia I wanted was sold out in Georgia so I ended up installing something less ideal after spending thousands including money lost on pointless labor!!! Anyone want to start a class action?

Worst Grass Quality, Bad Installer. I should have checked online reviews about this company (Grass4sale.com) before dealing with them. It would have save me a lot of frustration. I ordered 5 pallets of Palmetto St. Augustin and also paid for the soil prep (tilling, vegetation removal and sod installation). The customer service Roberto sounded cheerful and helpful so I went with them. (Wrong decision) The grass was supposedly delivered Wednesday but was actually delivered Friday. The grass looked stressed and yellowish. I called Grass4sale to complain about it (I was not home when it was delivered, remember they said it will be delivered Wednesday) and Valerie explained that it's normal depending on the area it was harvested. Anyway, the installer came and did the soil prep and installation. They did a poor job. They are in a hurry because they still have another work lined up after us (there's only two of them). They did not bother to pick up rocks and left a lot of roots and old grass that I haver to help with the clean up. They did not grade the soil either that I have to do it myself because they are already throwing the sod in without grading. The gaps are so wide some are 4-6 inches apart. They did not water the grass before rolling so the rolling is really useless because the soil the grass came with was very dry compacted clay. It was so dry it's like rolling on brick. The sod were full of weeds and a lot of brown dead spots. There are even Bermuda grass mixed with the St Augustine. I also doubt I have a Palmetto because it is yellowish not the dark emerald green Palmetto is known for. When I called the company again to question the variety, Valerie insisted it was Palmetto. Anyway, It's been 4 weeks now. There are areas where it's bare because the dead spots did not came back and was not filled in.The grass still is not emerald green. Some spots are still yellowish. (I did spread starter fertilizer after they left but the grass is so poor quality that starter fertilizer did not really help with the green up). At this time, the gaps are very visible that the soil has settled. I have to pay somebody to fill those gap with top soil. Another extra expense because of their poor job. I plan to spread a weed and feed this weekend, yes a weed killer on a newly sodded lawn. Do yourself a favor and do not do business with this company. It was a bad decision not to check reviews before hiring.

Ordered ten pallets of Palmetto St. Augustine with a Saturday delivery. Received a call mid-afternoon that the delivery would be made on Sunday. Sod arrives at 7:30pm. I questioned the condition of the sod and the driver called someone. The sod had been cut on Saturday, sat all Saturday night on pallets, was trucked five hours from Bay City (uncovered) on Sunday and was now in sad condition. This person became rude and belligerent when I asked when it was going to be installed. He said he had 24 hours to do it. I told him that if he waited until 7:30 pm on Monday that he he would miss that date. Additionally, I remnded him that their own website stated that the sod should be placed immediately. He hemmed and hawed saying it was only a guideline. Finally, after a heated discussion, I got a commitment that the Grass4sale installers would be on site by 8:30 the next morning. The two installers arrived 15 minutes late and spent the entire day installing the sod - with large gaps between sod pieces.

If you use Grass4Sale in San Antonio, be prepared for the worst. Two recent orders I placed with them were delivered days later than scheduled due to 'mechanical problems' and after going back to count the delivered sod I found I was significantly shorted on both deliveries. To top things off, much of the grass delivered was dead and ended up in the trash. Attempting to resolve issues with the company will result in their continued lies and total disregard for customer satisfaction. I found out the hard way that once you pay for an order from them they could care less about your satisfaction. Stay Away!!!

Last summer, I purchased six pallets of zoysia from Grass4Sale and I had a quick, and timely delivery despite the weather saying it was going to rain. My phone calls of concern were returned, and I was even notified when the grass was on it's way on the truck! I don't know why there are so many ill reviews, I was recommend by a neighbor here in Austin who had used them and also had a superb experience. If you have your doubts, ignore the online reviews, who I am sure is just some jealous company wanting their business. I highly recommend Grass4Sale.com!

I have not had this poor of an experience with any company in many years. I ordered and paid for 6 pallets of Zoysia Cavalier. They delivered 4 pallets and explained that there were 6 pallets worth of sod on those 4 pallets. After laying the first couple of pallets of sod it was obvious that the quality of the sod was extremely poor and at least 20% of the sod was weed filled, ragged, scalped or questionable as to whether it would take. To top it off, guess how many pallets worth of sod were on the 4 pallets, you guessed it, 4 pallets. After calling Michael Zuniga(the sales guy we ordered from) at Grass4Sale and telling him the situation, he said that he would have to come out and measure the sod(obviously I was lying), to which I said, the sooner the better. After over 3 weeks and Mr. Zuniga actually finally coming out and measuring and confirming that I was right he initially scheduled the remainder of the sod to be delivered and then called me back the next day to say that they could not find any more Zoysia Cavalier sod to send. I know it will be no surprise to find out that there is plenty of that sod available in this area.
