China Carvings is an individually owned business started in 1995. Originally V.R.International, our name changed in 2005 to China Carvings, reflection the focus of our merchandise. Vera Hyatt, the owner, is form Beijing, China, and her merchandise is imported through her close contacts with her home country, Shipments are obtained regularly and include a variety of high quality antiques, as well as excellent reproduction pieces. Most antiques are from the Qing Dynasty period ( 1800's ) and include associated certificates of antique documentation. A focus of our imports is Chinese antique wooden carvings, These unique hand carved items were originally used to decorate palaces, temples, homes and gardens. They provided architectural accents as windows, doors and trim work and come in a wide variety of sizes and styles. Designers use these pieces in wide range of home decoration schemes to add Asian accents with wall hangings, head boards, doorways and many other interior designs ( see samples ). In addition to wood carvings, we carry an assortment of antique and reproduction wooden status, foo dogs, wooden boxes, rice measure boxes, wooden trays and pottery items. Our gift section includes a popular selection of magnifying glasses and pottery chard pendent.
