I wanted to create this page to discuss a common misconception in the industry/marketplace. We often get calls from people seeking "bat exterminators" or "squirrel exterminators." This comes from the age-old idea that anyone who deals with any type of pest is an exterminator (be it squirrel exterminators, raccoon exterminators, skunk exterminators or bat exterminators). The correct use of the term "exterminator" would only be in the pest control industry. Exterminators deal with ants, cockroaches, bed bugs and other types of insects. We deal with bats, squirrels, flying squirrels, skunks, raccoons and birds. We do not exterminate these animals. We use humane procedures to remove them and then animal-proof the structure using mechanical techniques to ensure that they do not return.
Bed Bugs
Fleas
Cockroaches
Bees
I refuse to spend all day on the phone talking about what MIGHT be going on and blurting out inaccurate prices for a job that I know nothing about. To do so is just foolish. A noise in a ceiling or wall can be anything from a mouse, raccoon, bat, squirrel, flying squirrel, bees nest or even a branch scraping against the roof or siding. A thorough home inspection takes all the guess work out of these situations and allows us to provide accurate quotes for our customers every time.
Mosquitoes
Bats are found throughout this area. The town of Berkley seems to have the largest population of bats in this area. The Taunton River basin in Berkley is where we see very large colonies of bats in homes each year. The low-lying river-bottom is rich with mosquitoes and provides these bats with an ample food source. In the warmer months these bats enter houses through rooflines and unsecured vents. BatGuys provides expert Bat control in Taunton and all surrounding areas. For more information on our bat removal and exclusion services please visit our bat removal page.
Flies
No. Two things can happen if you block a skunk's entry point: They will either dig around the blocked hole, creating more damage, or they will be trapped under the house or shed and die right there. If you thought you had a problem when you had live skunks, you'll have twice the problem when you have dead skunks under the building. If the carcass can't be removed you may end up with months of unpleasant odors, flies and maggots. A live skunk is much cheaper to remove than a dead skunk. See our skunk removal page for more information.
Mites
An attic that is full of old, dusty, contaminated insulation is not only a potential health hazard to the home's occupants but it is also unusable. Who would want to store their belongings amongst filthy insulation, years of dust-mites and animal droppings? Reclaim your attic and turn it into useable space with our insulation removal and attic cleanout services.

Raccoons
Upper Cape cod has one of the largest populations of rabies-immunized raccoons in the country. This is due to an aggressive raccoon baiting program that was performed by Tufts University over the last 4 years. You can read more about this project on the Tufts Website. We get lots of calls each spring for Raccoons in attics and in chimneys on the Cape. Please visit this case study of a Cape Cod Raccoon Removal Project that we completed two years ago or check out our Massachusetts Raccoon Removal page for more information.
Snakes
The New England Herpetological Society - I do not do any type of snake removal or snake control services. When someone calls me with a snake issue I usually send them here. On this site you can identify your snake and learn about reptiles and snakes in Massachusetts.
Wildlife
On this page you will find links to other websites relating to animals and wildlife. Some of these sites belong to friends of mine who operate similar wildlife control companies in other parts of the country. Some sites are organizations that I belong to and/or support while others are sites that I have found helpful and/or interesting and thought that other people might find them useful as well.

Sometimes. In certain situations we can utilize pigeon netting and other bird control products to provide a solution to these problems. We do most of our pigeon control in Boston, where the pigeon populations are highest. The first step in the process is conducting an inspection of the premises. Once this is done we can propose a solution. Please contact us for further information.
Woodpeckers
Sometimes. Woodpeckers are federally protected. There is a long, tedious process one must go through to remove a woodpecker. Contact BatGuys for more information.

Squirrels
"We were unwillingly running a bed and breakfast in our eaves. Squirrels and birds were living it up in there! Fed up, we got 4 estimates before opting to go with the Bat Guys and we are happy we did. Bat Guys were very reasonably priced and also backed up their work with a 1 year guarantee. More importantly, we were very impressed with the professionalism and expertise the team demonstrated. I also like the fact that they embrace technology as evidenced by the quick response time to my emails (from work) and when they showed up at our house using a laptop with a GPS receiver!"
Chipmunks
Chipmunks are ground-dwelling squirrels and cannot climb very well. Very rarely do we get calls for them inside houses. When they do get into houses they usually show up in the basement and they usually enter through large holes in foundation of the home.
