Overall

We had some serious bat problems. They were everywhere in my attic and some even got into the house! Finally, we had enough and called Affordable Wildlife Eviction to get rid of them. They were prompt, very nice and above all, professional. We came to find out we had over 100 bats up there and after they left we had zero. I highly recommend Affordable Wildlife Eviction.

We had bats in attic (about 40...

We had bats in attic (about 40 adults and young). AAE responded within 24 hours of my initial call and discovered and assessed the problem. They immediately detailed the process to remove the bats and prevent future intrusions, and quoted their price to begin and complete the job. Upon written agreement, they began their work same day and completed the job within 7 days. We were very pleased with their initial response, professionalism, explanation of problem and solution, and their timely completion of the job. I would definitely recommend AAE for any similar wildlife problems.

Squirrels

I came home today and found that I had some squirrels living in my attic . I called Jarrod and he said that he would be right over. When Jarrod arrived he found where the squirrell was coming in through the roof and so Jarrod went to the attic and found a nest with 2 babies. Now Jarrod took them away and I have no more pesty problems.

This is the part of dead animal removal that most people have the hardest time with. At first the odor is weak, then it grows stronger as maggots process the carcass. As the biomass decreases, the odor gradually lessens but that can take some time. The odor life cycle varies, depending on the size of the animal. Aside from the odor, the sight of a decomposing raccoon squirrel or opossum can be plenty disturbing and even dangerous to whoever does the cleanup. Definitely NOT a do it yourself type of job.

Though armadillos have short legs they can move quickly when threatened. Armadillos will inflate their intestines to float across small streams and rivers or sink and run across the riverbed. They can hold their breath up to 6 minutes underwater. It is believed they developed this ability due to the fact they have their snouts buried in the soil for long periods of time forging for insects. Armadillos have long stick tongues that aid in the collection of ants, termites and other insects and have been observed rolling in ant and termite mounds to dislodge as many insects as possible to make feeding more productive.

Armadillos have extremely bad eyesight and rely on their fine-tuned sense of smell to get food. They are insectivores with their diet consisting of ants, termites, beetles, earthworms, grubs and other insects. They will also eat fruit, some vegetation and have even been known to eat carrion they come across. Armadillos have been seen eating roadkill but some researchers believe that it is possible that the armadillo is actually eating the maggots that accompany dead animals rather than the actual animal itself. Their tongues are long and sticky to get into tunnels of ants and termites, their main food source. Armadillos are nocturnal, but on occasion they will forage during the daytime. Thanks to their powerful claws and forelimbs which allow them to jab the ground to take out termites and ant mounds. They are also known to consume fallen fruits. Armadillos munch on food with the help of their peg-teeth that lies to the side of jaws.

Opossums
Opossums are about the size of a house cat. They have gray to black fur and a pointed snout with a hairless tail. Their nose, tail and feet are pink while the ears are black. Oppossum are gentle creatures but prefer to be alone and avoid confrontation. Opossums have 50 razor sharp teeth and will show them when frightened. Female opossums carry and nurse their offspring in a pouch for the first 2-3 months of life.Opossums are usually solitary and nomadic, staying in one area as long as food and water are easily available.
Armadillos
Armadillos weigh on average about 13 lbs but the largest specimens can reach weights of up to 22 lbs. Nine Banded Armadillos are the largest of the species and measure anywhere between 25 and 42 inches including the tail. The outer shell is composed of non-overlapping "scutes" which are similar to scales but are formed in the outer layer of the epidermis. The scutes are connected by flexible bands of skin. This armor protection covers their back, sides, head, tail and outward sections of the legs. The underside and inner portions of the legs have no armor but are protected by tough skin and a layer of coarse hair.
Coyotes
The coyote stands about 2 feet high, weighs in between 20–50 pounds and can be between 3 and 4 feet long. ncluding the tail. The fur is long and generally light brown above and whitish below. It is a pale reddish color on the legs with a bushy, black-tipped tail. Color variations do exist regionally. Coyotes are larger in the northeastern United States and eastern Canada. The coyote is primarily nocturnal doing the majority of hunting with it's pack at night. Coyotes run with their tail pointed downward and can reach speeds of 40 mph. They are extremely efficient hunters, and their senses are ultra sharp. In open areas, coyotes are primarily visual hunters but they mostly use smell and hearing to locate prey in thick vegetation or forest. In the northern parts of its range, the coyote relies primarily on the snowshoe hare and white-tailed deer as prey. A single coyote is able to capture an adult deer, especially in deep snow. Coyotes take down deer by repeatedly biting at the back legs and hindquarters, the kill finally being made with a choking bite to the throat. In fall and early winter, coyotes often hunt in pairs or packs, and the success of a pack increases with its size. Larger packs typically hunt larger animals, although they will capture and eat whatever prey they encounter. The coyote also consumes carrion. Wherever or whenever prey is unavailable or hard to obtain, coyotes eat large quantities of wild berries and fruits. In doing so, they may become much leaner. In the northeast, coyotes are fatter during winter, when deer are easier to capture, than in late summer.
Bobcats
Groundhogs are considered pests for a number of reasons. These animals commonly invade cropland and vegetable gardens, eating or destroying vegetables and landscape plants. Farmers are among the loudest voices when discussing the problems groundhogs pose. Although groundhogs are slow runners, they scurry quickly to their nearby dens when they sense danger. The primary predators of groundhogs are hawks, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, dogs and humans. However, motorized vehicles kill many groundhogs each year. The burrows they dig are the perfect size for human feet to fall into. Many times, a broken ankle is the price you pay for stumbling into a groundhog hole. Horses and other hoofed animals are susceptible to leg injuries as well as their grazing land. Groundhogs are fairly aggressive animals and do not do well as a pet. If cornered, their natural instinct is to attack first and ask questions later. Fortunaltely, groundhog attacks are quite rare.

Mice
Most house mice are commensal meaning that they rely on living in close proximity to humans and need us for food and shelter. They make themselves at home in and around houses, barns, warehouses, granaries, fields and farms. In cooler weather, they almost always make their way indoors for warmth.

Squirrels
Squirrels are members of the rodent family. The most common squirrel is the Eastern Gray Squirrel. They measure approximately 16-18 inches from nose to tail and weigh about one pound. Gray squirrels are active year-round and live primarily in trees. They feed on nuts, seeds, fungi, fruits, and are especially fond of the seeds in bird feeders as they are plentiful and easy to get. Nuts and acorns that have been gathered are stored in holes in the ground and account for more trees being planted each year than man, due to the fact they don't remember where they put many of them. Gray squirrels breed throughout the year and six weeks after breeding give birth to two to four young that are raised in a nest for about three months. They prefer cavities in trees or human homes to nest in and when cavities aren’t available they will build a nest out of leaves and twigs high in a tree.
Voles
All fox species are opportunists when it comes to feeding with rodents being the preferred food source. They are also omnivores and will eat small mammals, fruit, birds, eggs beetles, scorpions, reptiles (lizards and snakes), berries and grasses and frogs. They hunt prey by using a pouncing motion learned from an early age that allows them to kill their prey quickly. Foxes can eat approximately a kilogram of food a day (2 lbs.) and bury any extra food under leaves, soil or snow to eat later. Rodents make up the majority of a fox's diet. Mice, rats, voles and chipmunks are always on the menu and a fox can clear out rodent infetations from around peoples' homes making them a benefit to have around. However, they will sometimes eat house pets and that is when fox become a nuisance pest.
