Fraud alert: Claude Hill lied in writing twice about the condition of a rifle purchased. Upon firing the rifle flew apart where the stock had been cut and hidden under a barrel band. Claude refused to return the funds paid for the rifle and as a Master Gun Smith said he knew nothing of it, even though in writing he said the stock was secure and safe to fire and was fine. Once the truth was shown, he still kept the money. This is the criminal definition of fraud. The police have been contacted and the event is being referred to the ATF and FBI for selling an unsafe firearm and retaining funds from false statements. Claude Hill is the lowest person I've encountered in this industry and a danger to deal with. I'm only glad no one was seriously injured.

Unbelievable...

Look elsewhere for your gunsmithing needs. The experience I had with this guy was the worst customer service I've received in a very long time. A month ago, I brought an AK-47 that was in desperate need of a refinishing to Mr. Nimmo. He seemed very knowledgeable and friendly on the phone so I decided to put my trust in him. He told me I could come by his office (he owns a law office down town, he does gunsmithing as a hobby) and drop off the gun the next day and that he would call me when it was ready for me to pick up 2-3 days later. A week later, I still hadn't received a call from Mr. Nimmo, so I called him. "Some things came up. I should have your gun ready next week." he said. A week passes no phone call. Keep in mind that every time I had to try to get in touch with this guy I was calling the secretary at his law office; he was hardly EVER available and never provided his personal phone number. After several attempts over the course of a couple days, I finally get a hold of Mr. Nimmo only to find that he still has not finished the job. He said he was able to get the bead blasting out of the way (removing the original finish) but didn't have time to apply the new finish. I'm a patient person, so I agreed to wait another week for him to complete the job. Yet another week passes and again, no phone calls. So I'm forced yet again to make several attempts at getting a hold of this man to find out the status of my firearm and BEHOLD, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. To make a long sad story short... I call Mr. Nimmo today, a month after he said my gun would be finished, and BEHOLD... "Your gun isn't finished and it isn't going to be finished. You didn't break it down enough for me to apply the new coating." he says, he didn't even bead blast it like he already said he had ... ... ... Several thoughts were going through my head at the time but the one I will share with everyone looking for gunsmithing service is this: This man does not give a rats a** about you or your gun. He's doing this for a hobby and obviously does not take it seriously. After several phone conversations with this person I can tell you for sure that he is NOT a man of his word and will not live up to even the simplest of promises.

I'm generally a nice guy and hardly ever write bad reviews... But I had to get the word out on this fellow. Good luck.
