Hogey's Antique & Furniture Restoration

I was extremely happy with the work that Mark and his team did, I had 6 dining room chairs taken apart, refinished and put back PERFECTLY. These chairs are 113 years old, and were not a good quality piece of furniture in the first place, but they belonged to my husbands great grandparants and have been in the family all the years of its life. The chairs had become dangerous, and I was worried that they may collapse on someone. I took them to another place in BOise for an estimate and got $250 a chair! THey also wouldn't be able to have them done for 3 months.
I found Hogey's on Google and figured I would go out and see what they had to say. I have refinished a lot of furniture in my life, and am from a family that had done so for all my life, so I know what I am doing and I know what I am looking at. AFter meeting Mark, the 3rd generation of his craft, I realized that he was my guy. I asked him if they could keep the chairs looking old, and leave some of the deeper scratches in there, and try to match the patina of the table, that was in fine condition and didn't need restoration. He could not have done a better job. Anyone who has ever refinished or tried to put a chair back together and get it level and straight knows what a pain that is, these chairs are perfect. They look gorgeous and are now safe. THe tiger oak just glimmers yet they still look 113 years old. I can not recommend these guys more!
I would not hesitate to bring anything else to them, by the way, he charged me less than what was his quote, and it was half of what the other place wanted to charge. Very fair for very good quality and craftsmanship.

I'm thrilled that I found Hogey's... after 12+ years of trying to find someone to repair my dad's vintage barber chair. Truthfully, I expected that I would be paying thousands of dollars to repair the barber chair. Instead, I was charged $210 which included pick up and delivery! That is FAR less that what other contractors and service providers charge for work around my home.



What a pleasure to work with Mark... a very fair, reasonable, and friendly guy. I knew that Mark was the guy to do the work after the very first phone call. After asking relevant questions to diagnose the issue, he was able to easily identify the issue and explain what it would take to fix the chair.



I would use Hogey's Antique and Restoration service again in an instant. As a third generation owner of Hogey's; Mark is an honor to his grandfather!
