I have lived here at Magnolias of Myrtle Beach for almost 5 years and consider this to be an excellent place to bring your loved one to live. The director here is the most loving and caring, and responsible person, of any place I've stayed at. From what I've experienced, she and her entire staff give all their effort to ensure that everyone that lives here gets the best possible care and attention they can give. The other reviewer mentioned the turnover rate of employees, but from my experience, any employee who is not 100% committed to the residents' well being here doesn't last for long. It takes a special staff to take care of 30 plus residents and be dedicated and caring enough to do it right. And they must be doing a lot of things right because the facility is almost full at the time of this review. She and her staff are well trained and experienced on how to take care of the residents' needs, from those residents that are senior and need the extra care assisted living can provide, to those residents that need help getting around the facility, including those with dementia. The food is great and the chef is a responsible, dedicated person committed to serving the best meals he can to the residents. I have never had any problems with my medications, and they are always given on time, and the correct items and dosages. There is also hospice staff to take care of the residents on hospice, with a nurse on duty here, with the hospice also providing weekly visits by a nurse practitioner to take care of all the residents' needs (not just the hospice residents), with a hospice physician assigned to the facility. Many residents here see the nurse practitioner here at the facility on a weekly basis, and I have used their services several times when I needed antibiotics for for seasonal sicknesses. This is especially helpful because I receive my primary health care from the VA clinic here in Myrtle Beach, and having a nurse practitioner or a physician come here and see you and prescribe medications is invaluable to me. These services are especially helpful to senior residents who are not quite as mobile as they used to be. The facility is well kept and clean, and is a nice alternative to other facilities, some costing considerably more to live at. I know I couldn't afford them. This is a totally 100% honest review, and I thought it necessary to dispel the extreme views of one of the reviews listed here.
