Go Au Pair

Extremely disappointing experience!

Worst experience ever trying to find Culture exchange / Child Care. Dishonest and unbelievably rude local agent.

Au pair stayed with my family for less than 2 months out of 12 months term and went back to her country. Go Au Pair placement coordinator verbally told me they would refund at least 50% more than the refund on contract in a situation like this - never honored their words and did not refund a penny more. Which means all the upfront cost was on me.


Even worse, Go Au Pair and their local agent tried to force me let the Au Pair stay in my empty house while my entire family was in Europe on vacation which was arranged months ago, after Au Pair had already resigned. Au Pair was to leave USA directly from my house before my family return home from the vacation. I involved Police and avoided Au Pair or Go Au Pair to enter my house before my return. I had to deal with all these while vacationing overseas in Europe.

The local agent they hired was horribly rude, did not follow required / advertised protocol to interview host family, unprofessional. When she called me, she was only interested to ask me questions and not answering my questions. When I asked her a question regarding driving license, she almost hung up the phone.

I recommend all host families to avoid Go Au Pair at any cost. I was left scrambling and bear the full cost of the early Au Pair departure which was not my fault.

I was harassed and insulted by Go Au Pair's local agent who worked for her own interest and not for her employer, Au Pair, or host family.

The service has been very hands on and my experience has been wonderful.

Future host family - be aware. Before choosing this agency, do not think for a moment that they will be great because they are small. Instead, they offer no host family support. If a problem arises, they do not follow protocol or Department of State Rules and Regulations. Go with a bigger company that does follow the protocol. You will be glad you did!
