Western Sizzlin

I moved from Illinois to Mountain Home Ar in November of 2006. Since Western Sizzlin was where we always went for great steaks and fantastic food bars in Illinois I thought I would give this one a try. Well the steaks were not up to standard, the food bar and salad bar were both sub standard with the food dried out or sloppy looking, the restraunt was not the cleanest either. We heard that new management had taken over in Feburary of this year so giving the management time to do their thing we went back to give it another try. It was truly amazing to see how clean, and neat the place was. that was one good point, apperance. The hot bar had a great selection of hot meats and vegetables, while there was a lot to choose from at the salad bar. The yeast rolls, croisents, cinnamon, pies, especially the peanut butter, and cherry cobbler at the bakery department are some of my favorites. We watched the people replacing bowls and pans on both bars and when they finished they mad sure the area was clean. Some of us had the hot bar and a couple of us tried the steaks. We ranged from med-rare to med-well hoping to get close to our likes, needless to say the steaks came out perfect, baked potatos and vegetables were done to perfection. We do go back quite often because I hate to cook. So if you decide to go to Western Sizzlin while in town or living here you will get some great food and the management and wait staff are really nice people too. We are even on first name bases with most of them now.
