I truly wish I could give no stars!!!! I rode in cab 1361 on 3/25/15 around 10pm and I have never been so offended in my entire life!!! As we pulled up in my hotel the driver had the audacity to tell me he dropped off two black "N words" earlier to the same hotel. I am African American but have lighter skin so some ignorant people may not know... I was so offended I hope this stops some people from using this company!!! I'm very saddened by this occurrence as I am not a native of Chicago and was really enjoying the experience until now. American Taxi should educate their drivers before sending them out to communicate with different ethnicities

I ordered a cab for about a 4am pick-up from western suburbs to Midway airport. The driver did not exit the vehicle to help load luggage into the trunk. Once we got inside, the driver had a strong body odor. Approaching I-55 SB on I-294, he almost exited south onto I-55, in the opposite direction from Midway - I had to correct him at the last moment. After that I turned on my GPS. The driver proceeded making three wrong turns in the Midway area, wasted our time - I just could not correct him fast enough. When he finally pulled up to unload us, he did not have his credit card reader working, although I specifically ordered a cab who could accept credit cards. Just a complete mess of service!

Absolutely HORRIBLE! I requested a cab to pick my 16 yr old son up from work at Beggars in Oak Forest. He was getting off work at 1:00 am and I was out of town. I didn't want him walking home at that hour. They never showed! never called either. I will NEVER rely on them again.

First time ever calling a taxi and this was the most horrible experience ever! I scheduled for a pick-up the night before, JUST to ensure that I had pick-up for the day. To my complete surprise, no pick-up. I received a call at 6:30 am to tell me that they will be unable to pick me up at 6:30 am because I was too far. Under their name it says servicing the Country Club Hills area and I stay in Country Club Hills, false advertising is what that is called! Made me miss my train to work because I had to call around and find another taxi company within 5 minutes. If they knew they were going to be unable to pick me up, I should have received a call within the first 5 minutes! Not only is that common sense, but that is professional! Also, the lady that I placed the order with the night before should have told me that they would be unable to pick me up that early! Horrible service and I would never recommend them to anyone!!!!!!

Cab driver was ok, waited about 30 minutes for pick-up. $2.00 for there & back. The driver didn't listen to me! It was my ride! Wanted cheaper than $25.00 and didn't make that!

This company is a bunch of thieves. They took me to the airport on one day, charged my corporate credit card, etc., appropriately. No problem. Tentatively made arrangements with them to pick me up from the airport a couple of weeks later. Turned out, I did not need them upon my return trip and did not contact them. They, however, still charged my corporate credit card as if they had picked me up. And then, when I disputed this charged with my credit card company, they had the nerve to falsify a credit card receipt, putting the non-pickup/service date on a copy of the receipt where they did give me a ride. All of this they then submitted to my corporate credit card company. I work for an international, 14B dollar a year global company in Chicago. I will see to it that they will never do business with my company again.

Went to concert at the amphitheater at Tenley Park. Called for taxi for 11:30 pm. Taxi drive called and said he couldn't get into stadium until traffic cleared and to meet him at gate 2. Went to gate 2 and watched as traffic all but disappeared. Called the cab company and they said they would have drive call us. Waited and waited and he never called. Called company back and they said driver had called in stating we had cancelled our call. Told cab company we did not cancel our call and had been waiting for over an hour. Company said they would send another car. Waited another 10 to 15 minutes and another cab company drove by and ended up picking us up. American Taxi not reliable at all and left 6 of us stranded at the amphitheater.

American Taxi cost me a job

I called American Taxi in Elmhurst this afternoon at 12:20 PM to order a taxi to go to a job interview scheduled at 1:00 PM today. The building in which I was intervewing is literally about 5 mins. away from where I live. The dispatcher told me the cab would be here in 10-20 minutes, so I wasn't worried. Then at about 12:27, the cab driver who had been assigned my fare called me from his cell phone to tell me that he was on his way, and that he would be here in 10-20 minutes. Again, I figured because it was such a short ride, I would be okay. At 1:07 PM, he still had not arrived, and I called a different cab company, which dispatched a cab to me within minutes and got me to my destination by about 1:20 PM. My perspective employer, however, was not happy about my tardiness, and now may not hire me because of a perceived "unreliability" issue (even though it was American Taxi's fault.)I just want to let anyone who is absolutely depending on a cab to get anywhere extremely important by a certain time know that this company is unreliable, and may leave one in the lurch–without even calling.
