Been going here for a little while now and the place has only gotten better. New management seems to be taking the place in the right direction.

It's a really nice gym for where it is located! Only been here once. Great service. The people are really nice!

This gym is a complete joke and nothing more than a sales pitch. I received a call from one of the "fitness consultants" about winning a free pass to the gym (oddly enough from a "contest" I never even entered, aka cold call). When I got there I was shown around the gym then taken to a room to discuss the membership prices. After what seemed like an eternity of tell this guy no multiple times, he finally let me go with the pass. Boy am I glad I didn't fall for that place. I've talked to several friends that are now stuck in a contract for at least a year. The tanning beds all have bulbs that are not functioning and the equiptment is poorly taken care of. I even heard they charge an enhancent fee to improve the gym, which obviously isn't being done. The management is less than professional and most of them look like they know nothing about fitness and are more than likely pot heads. My advice is to stay away from this place beacuse it is nothing but bad news. Unless you are desperate for a gym then I would stay as far away as possible. There are many other better options in this town.

I stopped cause the fittness trainer smoke here at the Alma fitness center, and I am not against smoking cause i used to and i quite i can not be around smoke smell it makes me sick. Just got off the phone with Mt. Pleasant and they refuse to conceal my membership cause i don't have a doctor slip. so no they are going to charge my card $59.00 a month for a membership i want to conceal and they refuse to conceal it. So my advice don't go there trainers smoke here in alma in house trainers smokes so how is the promoting healthy lifestyle. What they do on there time is there business but smoking on the job is stupid and careless and the promote healthy living.

After signing a contract I found my key never allowed me into the facility the first day I went in the second day and spoke with the desk clerk. I was told it was fixed. The second day still didn't work. Again I was told the issue was resolved on the third try my key denied entrance again. I went back to facility during business hours again and was told they had a three day cancellation policy and to just cancel and the refund would be in thirty days. After thirty days I phoned and was told they were working on my refund and would receive a phone call by end of the day. No call so I went into the facility to find they aren't going to refund my fee. They denied telling me I would receive a refund. I was never allowed to use the facility ever. My lawyer will handle it from here

I went in a few weeks ago to check the gym out with a pass for two weeks I won thru a drawing. It was great at first, nice gym and so on, so I signed contract for three years with the extremely friendly "salesman". The next day I came in for a physical review with a trainer. It didn't start with him tho, the lady at the front desk seemed hardly impressed when i told her i needed a scan badge and oddly said "you look like the type" with a little snear in the corner of her mouth, and gave me crap about showing up right on the dot of the appointment. I had no idea where that came from. Now, I'm a little overweight, i have facial piercings, and on that particular day i had partial blue hair, so really not your typical gym rat. So when she said that i was immediately thrown back and appauled. After she scanned me thru the trainer i was to meet was over rushed even tho we had an appointment, okay, fine, i got that... yet he was hardly friendly at the beginning and had a coldness through the entire session, then he tried to sell me on paying for a trainer! Hardly buddy... Overall, contract or not, I'm never going back.

Customer service is a joke. Manager gave out 30 day free trials and after the second day I used it, the manager had me give him the pass so he could shorten the free trial to 14 days and was extremely rude and ignorant. If you give out 30 day free trials maybe you should let someone actually use it for the 30 days and treat them nicely so they will sign up after. Who in their right mind is going to pay when they have a free trial for x amount of days? Oh yeah thats really going to make me give you my credit card when you take back a 30 day free trial and make a 14 real cool.

The gym equipment falls apart as you use it. Saw the leg press machines safety mechanism fail when someone had 400 pounds on it.
