        Lai Thai an unexpected pleasure

        I'm a Thai lover in all respects thus a tough critic in my mind of Thai restaurants. I will say that the Lai Thai is an excellent choice. Nice atmosphere, kind of small but they have been around a LONG time. I was impressed by the quality of food. Portions are not huge and well priced fir the money. Not a real big selection of dishes tho, that's the only down fall. I will say tho that many of the restaurants in the area do not carry the tradition sticky rice with mango dessert. This place does and it is beyond excellent!!! In my opinion worth the drive for just that dessert!!!

        Great Pad Thai & Pricing - Not Quite as Tasty as THONG THAI in Niles, but more developed atmosphere.

        Pad Thai is excellent, kha-nom-jeeb appetizer is great. SECRET LOVE: If you go, you MUST try the "Angel Wings" - they are very unique and tasty. Only wierd experience: every time I eat Thai food, I always finish HALF of my plate of Pad Thai and like to take the rest home - I cannot prove it, but I SWEAR that every time they bring my dish back wrapped (in take-out box) it has LESS than was on my plate - it is uncanny, but it has happened ALL three times I ate-in. My wife notices the same.
