Fallas - Department Stores

The "Shoppers Beware" person kinda sounds like a case of low self esteem that she's passing on to her young daughter. How did this 8 year old know who this adult was talking about and why would a mother inject a child in adult affairs? This is no Nordstrom's-so I don't expect Nordstrom like service, but I don't have to pay Nordstrom price$$$$. Yes some of the salespeople are a little rough around the edges but for the most part my interactions have been very good. I have shopped at various Fallas/Conways for over 30 years from Los Angeles to Atlanta. I have always gotten VERY low prices for Very good quality. Stop teaching your daughter to be a poverty victim (hence the shame) and empower her to be a savvy shopper. A savvy shopper doesn't get mad or feel ashamed asking for her discount. When you encounter something like this you simply say: "No problem, I'll wait here while you go and get the manager." If the manager is also ignorant, say: "I see this needs to be taken to Corporate; may I have that number please?' On the rare occasions I had to go to any company's Corporate headquarters it always worked out for me in the form of a discount, gift card or coupon. When ever this type situation arises I become TOTALLY relaxed (or appear that way) my voice becomes softer and I look them directly in the eyes using their name over & over..my favorite line to break the ice is "My money is funny and I can't part with any extra" this will mostly get a laugh, relax the situation. Don't teach your daughter to be a victim show her how to tell people to go to hell without using one cuss word and without them even knowing it until they feel the flames. This store has TOO many great values to be put off by some section 8 worker. The prices wouldn't be so low if they had Phd's working for them. I'm only giving them 4 stars because it is kinda self service.
