Polar Bear Towing

I didn't catch the guy's name, but his service was outstanding!!! I caught a flat and called Polar Bear. On a Saturday night after 6pm, I didn't expect to get anyone. He said he'd make it to me in 30 mins and it took less time than that. He swapped my tire in 5 mins!!! I'd definitely use his services again and I don't have a problem referring him to everyone I know in the area.

Last night it turned cold; snow and freezing rain was predicted. My car died right in front of Big Lots in Morrisville with me (a cancer patient currently undergoing Chemotherapy) and my son (who is disabled) inside. I called my Road Assistance company and they tried to find a tow truck in the area. The only one that answered the phone was Polar Bear Towing. The driver said he was sitting down to dinner and it would take an hour and a half to get there to give us a tow and it would ALSO cost us an additional $15 to tow it the 1000 or so FEET to the garage I was bringing it to. I agreed to pay the $15 (on top of what they got from the Auto Club) and set about to wait the hour and half in a car that would not start and so we had no heat. Two hours and 45 minutes later they still had not shown up. I called the Auto Club back twice and they said they would try to reach them for me. I tried to call Polar Bear Towing myself and they had a message to say leave my phone number and they WOULD have a wrecker operator call. (It is 4:43 the next afternoon and I never got a call from them.) And they NEVER SHOWED!!!!! As a last act of desperation I tried the key- by some miracle it turned over and I was able to get a car (with no lights, late at night in December) to crawl about two miles an hour to my garage. I called back my Auto Club and thanked them for trying to help but I asked them to MAKE SURE that the bums at Polar Bear did NOT GET PAID!!!! I will NEVER call or allow my Auto Club to call Polar Bear Towing again! AND I am telling EVERYONE I KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband was in a car accident and the police called Polar Bear Towing even though he was insisting on using our own AAA coverage. We have been unable to reach Polar Bear Towing to have our car towed from the lot by AAA, even though we paid all related fees for the tow we never asked for. My husband and I have been calling Polar Bear Towing all day today and yesterday, but the owner has chosen not to return our calls, and is now trying to charge us for extra fees to hold the car. We have even employed babysitters to pick up our children and care for them while we sat outside the owner's house and car lot at the time we were supposed to meet him, although he failed to show up. We are trying to resolve the issue through the police department, and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. The police department in Stowe has assured us that Polar Bear Towing and the owner in particular is not the type of person to pull anything so deceptive and can hardly believe that the owner said they are now trying to assess an extra fee. Avoid this towing company at all costs.
