Rago Brothers is simply the best in the business! I consistently bring them my wife's bags and shoes and trust them with properly handling our items that our worth thousands of dollars. Their expertise in all matters shoe and bag repair is astounding. The owners are always in the shop and always jumping at the opportunity to help customers. They are very fair and honest and will not take a job just to make money on it rather they will honestly tell you if they can do quality work to meet your needs. The staff at the counters are always pleasant and courteous. The work is completed quickly and presented in a professional manner. I strongly recommend Rago Brothers not only because they are a small town family owned 100 year old institution but also because they are the best at what they do.

I agree with the dissatisfied reviewers! I too had a disastrous experience with what should have been a simple fix of a vintage brown leather bag. Apparently these guys do a great job on some customers and not on others? (Why? I am hardly a difficult customer...) Bottom line in my opinion is they are not to be trusted with anything beyond the most rudimentary of shoe repair (and even then I have my doubts).

Rago Brothers lived up to its near celebrity status in my hometown. I live in the "horse country" part of NJ where no expense is spared when it comes to getting quality service. Rago Brother's exceeded my expectations and I found myself hunting through my closet for items to bring to Rago Brothers that I considered not quite perfect but too expensive to discard. Value is excellent, service even better. Shop is attractive and energetic.

I've mailed in my vintage Gucci and Coach handbag for a refinish. They told me about the color match and possible harder finish than it used to be and re assured me that it will soften with time. My CC was not charged right away, only after the job. Shipping was fast and great. My bags look like "new" and ready for an other 10 years... I hope my girl will carry them one day same way as I did. Thank you Rago's for restoring my items.

I was a little concerned about using them based on either great or abysmal reviews. So, I called a few times to get comfortable with their process. Then sent my wife's purse (Kate Spade) that I was scuffed up, which I worsened by trying to fix myself. A week later it was fixed. I'm giving them four stars because the first guy I spoke to had an attitude, which made me search around for other companies to do this but came up with zilch. That said, I spoke to two other women, and decided that it would be okay.

Beware the Ragos Bros! I sent in my vintage Gucci bag that needed some color treatment and to have the loop that holds the strap replaced as it had torn off. I found the Rago Brothers on the internet and assumed they would have some sort of experience considering how many companies they claim to work for. When I recieved my bag back I was FURIOUS. The stitching for the loop was uneven and not even a matching color! As for the recoloring, all I wanted was the worn corners touched up, but now I have a rock hard bag! It feels fake! Now I have to deal with my credit card company trying to stop payment. Hopefully Mr. Rago's sleazy charm wont win over American Express.

If I could enter less than one star, I would. They were sent my vintage Coach bag by the Coach store in NYC for a simple stitching. They then took it upon themselves to refinish and restore the bag. They removed the patina finish on my 40 year old bag, stiffened the leather, and ruined the bag!!!! If you know someone your really dislike, send them to Ragos.

This is the best Shoe and handbag repair shop ever. They are friendly and offer great advice to keep your shoes in the best shape ever!! I would only trust my Cesar Paciotti's, and Ferragamo's to Rago! If you have a high quality pair of shoes and want to keep them in great shape this is the place to go. If you wear Barker Black, Paciotti, Ferragamo, Christian Louboutin, Emporio Armani, DSquared, Alexander McQueen, Church's, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Giuseppe Zanotti, Gianvito Rossi, Prada, Fendi etc. This is where they will send you for excellent repair and service.
