Rocking L Ranch

This stable owner/barn is unbelievable, and I mean that in a wonderful way. Here is my story: I have a very old, very healthy mare, who acts and looks half her age. I had her boarded at another very nice facility, very pricey, but really convenient to my home so that I could get over and spend much more time with her. Unfortunately, I could not get there for about a month, having had surgery and unable to drive. I hitched a ride over to pay the rent, and came in to a catastrophe....no one was there (about 4 PM) and my usually steadfast horse was racing in the stall, sweated up and kicking. You guessed it...full blown colic. Well, I could not walk her out because i was in a cast, and a friend of the barn owner happened to be there and between he and my husband, they got a halter on her, a lead rope and started walking her out. Here is the wonderful part: I never had met Lisa. I never had any dealings with her. She didn't know me from Adam. The friend called her up, she came racing over from Morris with meds and since the barn vet (who I had never met) never bothered to return the emergency call, Lisa called a horse hospital up north of Elburn, vouched for me, and she and her daughters, the wonderful friend who helped me all piled in a truck and trailered my mare all the way up there. We got everything squared away, but it was almost midnight when Lisa got home with her kids (who had to get up early the next day) and the barn friend dropped me off at my home. Talk about "Angels among us". Now, if she didn't know me and came to the rescue for someone who was not a boarder at her facility, think how wonderful and responsible she will be for someone who entrusts their horse to her care. YOU COULD NOT FIND A BETTER STABLE FOR YOUR HORSE and I highly recommend her as a stable manager and a business person. By the way, the stable owner who owns the place I am at has NOT returned my calls, nor has he inquired about the welfare of my mare. I am so out of there!
