Star Cafe

This is a pretty good restaurant, but not great. If you want something in the Montrose area that is more high end than Black Cow or Rocky Cola, this is the next best thing. For really high end in the Montrose area I would rather go to 3 Drunken Goats or New Moon.

Had the honor of attending the bridal shower of a good friend here recently, and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted by a member of the wait staff and given directions to an upstairs room where the shower was being held. It was a bit after 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty much packed. I followed the aisle that led up a short flight of stairs to a private patio that was nicely decorated for the event. Once all of the ladies in attendance settled down, we were presented with a menu of five or six entrees to choose from, along with soup or salad, and a variety of soft drinks. I opted for a house (Caesar) salad, Blackened Chicken with Angel Hair pasta tossed with tomatoes (sans mushrooms - I'm allergic) and served with a delicious garlic cream sauce, with a cold Strawberry Lemonade. Not only was every bite of food delicious, but the service was incredible. Our waiter was attentive, patient, and quite gracious. At no time were our glasses left empty, and in spite of the tightness of the space (due to the decorations and huge table full of gifts and other goodies for the bride), he was efficient and accurate with every dish served - including my angel hair without mushrooms! Because of the delightful experience I had as a guest of the bridal shower, I'm certain to revisit the Star Cafe in the very near future, and highly recommend it! By the way - park in one of the many 3-hour public lots located a block or so off Honolulu on either side. It can be a bit tricky to navigate at first, but all lots are within an easy walk of the main drag.

My first time eating at the Star Cafe was very enjoyable. The angel hair pasta w/bolgenese (spelling?) was excellent.

Will remember this place, good food, reasonable prices.
