Silver Hills

Talk about a God thing... When my Mother was diganosed with a brain tumor, we flew to Houston to Memorial Herman, to see what could be done. Living in Belize we did not have knowledge of any facility in the United States. When I called home to see if anyone had any ideas, one of our friends staying with us in Belize, recommended Silver Hills. I can never thank Karl or Jane enough for everything they did for Mom. they set up a bed for me to be able to stay with her when I was in town (at no charge) They cared for my Mother like they were family. They helped me through the difficult times, and will always have a warm welcome at my house, for what they did.

As guardian of my Aunt I moved her to Silver Hills, so she could enjoy the country. She had the best time of her elder years there. She came from a place that kept her sedated with medications. The RN there worked with her doctor to get a balance that worked wonders. I will never be able to repay the kindness shown to my Aunt Dianne.

My Dad was transported to Silver Hills during hurricane Katrina/Rita. He was living in New Orleans when Katrina struck, and had to be rescued from his house, after watching his niece get swept away. He went to Houston by bus, got caught in Rita, and was put in Memorial Herman, from there he went to Silver Hills. He was well cared for, given assistance above and beyond what I would expect from a facility. My hat goes off to the owners and their staff. They will always hold a place in my heart for how they helped my Dad

I have been a resident here for 5 years. This is my home. I choose to live here, because the staff cares. There are no better people than the owners here. They helped me reclaim my life, and They are my friends, and I am very close with several of the staff. People who make negative comments, are either looking through blinders, or simply do not know the whole picture.

I have my mother at Silver Hills and she has been there several years and i am VERY happy with the care that she has ALWAYS recieved here. The caretakers there are all very friendly when we are there and my mother talks about how good they are to her, I would never think of moving her to any other place. I read the other two comments on here and also read Karls comment back, Yes Jane is a nurse and a very good one, she has advised me several times on things with mom, and who would even expect her to be there 24 hours a day. She has always been available either by phone or in person when I have needed to speak with her.. TO the owners and staff at Silver Hills:: Keep up the great work......

I have to agree with the review, my father was there a short while, and we moved him out pretty fast. And in that short while my family and I witnessed the same things. I understand the owners wanting to defend their business, but at least be honest. Yes, your other owner is a nurse, but she is not there taking care of patients, in person, 24 hours a day. They offer no activities or socialization. And as far as problems with workers, I and my wife too have witnessed the owner's son being aggressive pushing a resident almost making him fall. I understand that he is family, but he is also a big liability.

TO BE HONEST THIS IS THE WORST ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN OR BEEN IN THEY DO NOT TREAT THEIR RESIDENTS WITH THE RESPECT THEY DESERVE THEY LET THEM SIT IN SPOILED DIAPERS ALL DAY THE STAFF IS NOT EDUCATED ON THE PROPER WAY TO HANDLE SITUATIONS WHEN THEY COME ALONG, THEY ARE NOT LICENSED TO DO WHAT ALL THEY DO. THE OWNER STATES THERE IS A 24 HR NURSE ON PREMISES THAT IS FALSE.SHE BRINGS FAMILY ISSUES INTO THE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY LETS HER SON YELL AND SCREAM AND BE NEGLECTFUL TO THE RESIDENTS.THIS SI BY FAR THE WORST PLACE AND NO ONE SHOULD EVER LET THEIR FAMILY GO HERE SAVE YOUR FAMILY DO NOT KILL THEM OR BE FOOLED BY THEM THANK YOU
