Dental Examination
An initial examination will determine if Clearcorrect is right for you. Then we perform a comprehensive exam that includes taking impressions, photographs, and x-rays, and develop a treatment plan.
X-rays
Panoramic X-rays are used to view all of the teeth on one digital film. They also show the upper and lower jaws, the temporomandibular joints (TMJs) and the sinuses above the upper teeth. Panoramic X-rays, unlike other types, do not require a film to be put in the child's mouth. This is helpful for children who gag easily or who have small mouths. This X-ray requires that a patient be able to sit or stand still for 12 to 18 seconds.
Oral Cancer Screening
Assess overall oral health including oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, and dental charting

Teeth Cleaning
You can keep your gums healthy by brushing and flossing twice a day, eating a healthy diet, and having regular dental cleanings and examinations.
Fluoride Treatment
At a adolescent’s routine dental hygiene visit our staff will perform an examination, including appropriate X-rays, and update your teen’s medical history. We will check for tooth development and growth and will check orthodontic status. When appropriate we will apply sealants and fluoride.
Dental Sealants
To help protect these teeth from decay, dental sealants can be placed shortly after these teeth erupt into the mouth.

Fillings
Resin Composite
During this process enamel-colored composite resin is applied to the tooth surfaces, hardened, sculpted into shape and polished to match the surrounding teeth.
Veneers
Porcelain Laminate Veneers are another option for discolored, fractured or unsightly crooked teeth. These thin, semi-translucent laminates are permanently bonded to the fronts of teeth. Porcelain Laminate Veneers are stronger than simple bonding and thus can last longer.
Crowns
Recession is a condition where the gum tissue moves away from the crown of the tooth toward the root, exposing too much tooth. Besides being unattractive, recession can contribute to tooth sensitivity, decay, and possibly tooth loss. Restorative Dentistry
Dr. Cocchia completed her post graduate Dental General Practice residency at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey. During her residency, she acquired advanced training in restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, implants, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, orthodontics, and anxiety control.

Root Canal Treatment
Most teeth that have had root canal treatment will require a full coverage crown to restore the tooth's function and keep it protected.

Deep Cleaning
More severe periodontal conditions can also be treated with success, but may require more extensive treatment. Treatment often begins with scaling and root planing, which is a deep cleaning of the tooth and root surfaces below the gums. This cleaning can be completed with local anesthesia to maximize patient comfort.

Dentures
In 2018, Dr. Cocchia completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Rutgers University’s School of Dental Medicine. Recognized by the Dental School faculty for her advanced clinical skills, Dr. Cocchia was selected to be a clinical tutor for students in Operative Dentistry, Fixed Prosthodontics, Complete Dentures and Dental Anatomy Labs.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are often the best, most conservative, and long-lasting method to replace natural teeth. Dr. Ferguson and his team have successfully placed thousands of implants for more than 18 years in a variety of treatment plans. Permanent replacement teeth that look and feel like real teeth are now a reality. Anyone from young adults to seniors with healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant is a candidate for this procedure to replace one or more missing teeth.

Jamie became part of the team at Ferguson Dental Associates in 1999 after she received her Certificate for Dental Assisting from Berdan Institute for Health Professionals. She enjoys assisting in the placement of dental implants and oral surgery.

Braces

Families have the option of taking a printed copy of their child’s panorex from our office before meeting with dental specialists such as an Oral Surgeon (for wisdom teeth removal) or an Orthodontist (for braces). This option gives the patient the freedom to schedule consultations with multiple specialists for opinions on how to treat a patient moving forward without having to have additional, unnecessary xrays taken at multiple offices.

Dr. David Ferguson lives in Montclair, NJ with his wife Kelly and their three children.
