Myownly Boarding Kennel

I've been taking my dogs to Myownly for many years. Other than my vet's office it's the only place they stay. I currently drive all the way from North Bend to go there. They do a great job with my rowdy group of terriers. They are great about giving everyone their medicines, and they seem to trully understand each dog's personalities and needs.

They were recommended to me by a vet and I can wholeheartedly recommend them. My pets are my family and it's great to be able to have somewhere safe to leave them where I know they will be in good hands. I give Myownly a 5 paw rating.

I've used MyOwnly for a few years for

grooming. The staff there is always great and I feel very comfortable

with their ability to manage my elderly, and crazily-eager Australian Shepherd,

Cody. Being elderly, Cody has ancient coat that won't shed on its own,

and he needs the special knowledge and expertise Cathy Tower-Chriscaden

has. She knows just how far Cody's tolerance will go, and finds ways,

easier on him, to get him clean and his coat back in condition. Most

groomers have not had the sense of humor MyOwnly demonstrates for clients like

Cody. Cody loves to go visit them, and he is clearly happier and more

comfortable afterwards. Cathy has also sculpted some of my show dogs. I

own Silken Windhounds who must be shown clean and in a "natural

state." Cathy's eye for a complete dog ensures just the right amount

of unflattering hair is removed. I've used several other groomers in the

past and have never felt that my dog "meant" something to them.

In a word, WOW! (Along with caring, understanding & knowledgeable)



(I'll start with two points: we live right near SeaTac airport and I don't care for driving. Yet, I still chose to drive the 40+ miles to Cathi's kennel anyway.)



McLovin - History and Challenges

My wife and I have three American Pitbull mixed dogs. Our latest addition, McLovin, came to use from a rescue in Valhalla Animal Rescue in Graham, WA. McLovin was one of 50+ dogs who were rescued from a hoarder situation in Pierce County, WA. And, he was one of the very last to find a permanent home.



While he had no issues with aggression during his 8 months in the rescue (where he ran freely with a pack), he - quickly - had an issue with the male APBT in our house. In reality, the existing male had an issue with McLovin.



After seeing a short but intense fight between the two, (which we later found out is common for dogs, but we hadn't seen before) we decided the best thing for when we travel is to have McLovin boarded at a kennel.



And, because we don't know his history, we wanted him at a place where he didn't have free run with other dogs. Just a warm, comfortable, safe and loving place where we knew we'd find him in the same condition as when we left him.



Drop Off/Expectations

My wife searched the internet for days for kennels that boarded large breeds and kept them separated at all times, while still providing personal attention/care and exercise. She finally found Cathi's kennel and it seemed like a perfect match.



Cathi was very thorough during the intake/drop off. And, she made clear that her role was to feed, exercise and love McLovin, not let him roam around. I think she, "To make sure he's comfortable and cared for until you return. That's it." And, that's exactly what we wanted.



Pick Up/Findings

I went to pick McLovin up and found only one negative... he seemed to like Cathi and her staff more than me! While we were concerned about abandonment issues considering he'd been locked in a trailer the first few years of his life and obviously abused, he didn't feel the least bit neglected. Rather, he found new family.



Little Extras

The best thing one can say about a business is that it treats its customers like family. Well, Cathi and her team treated McLovin, and us, like family. It was awesome.



And, we had a few more surprises... First, McLovin's nails were trimmed, complimentarily. Second, McLovin received a very creative and thoughtful, doggy 'report card'. Third, and best and most touching of all, Cathi had taken MANY professional quality photos of McLovin with a professional camera and background to boot. And she emailed us a number of these pictures, FOR FREE! This was flat out fantastic!



So, other than sleeping along side of us, having McLovin board at myownly kennel is the next best thing.

Excellent service - my dog comes home happy and healthy and their grooming services are great. Even my high strung dog who hates getting her nails done comes home with them in great shape.

We've taken our dogs to Myownly for many years. Cathi and her staff really care about the pets in their care! When we come to pick up our dog, they give a detailed, personal review of how our pet fared during his stay. The kennel is clean and individual runs are large. We are very comfortable leaving our pets at Myownly.

When on vacation we need not worry about our dogs. They are in very capable, trusting and loving hands.

I have two wire fox terriers, my boy is 14-years-old and has highly-demanding medical and food needs, and our girl is a former rescue dog, with all sorts of behavioral and emotional complications. It pains me to be away from them, but I have to travel quite a bit, so having a great kennel that can take care of them is critical to us. We have been using MYOWNLY for many years now and couldn't be happier.



Not only do they patiently take care of their many specialized needs, but the dogs come home every time clean, rested, and happy--like they truly enjoyed their trip to The Country Dog Spa!! :-)



We live in the city of Seattle, so there are many kennels closer and much more convenient to our home, but I drive without hesitation to Monroe, knowing it's the best kennel I have ever used and that the staff loves my little ones as much as I do.

The personal care and attention that our dog gets is wonderful at this kennel. He is always happy to see the staff and when we pick him up, he is consistently active, happy and well groomed. They clearly treat him well and love having him come. I highly recommend them - it is well worth the drive to take him there.

Our dogs have received excellent care from Myownly staff for over ten years. We kennel them there several times every year and also groom them there. Our dogs get excited when they realize that is where we are driving to. When we arrive they pull on the leash to get inside. They are always glad to see the affectionate and caring staff who work there. It is reassuring to know our pets are safe and happy while we are out of town. They get their own vacation!



We have all confidence in Cathi and her staff. Over the years our dogs have aged and dealt with assorted medical and emotional issues. Myownly provided the compassionate professional resourse we needed for a quality of life for our happy dogs. They truly care about our dogs. Myownly's phone number is even on their ID tags something Cathi encourages.



P.S. I agree with reev4sal (another review). Comparable prices, exceptional service. We kennel and groom 3 large dogs. Sometimes more than the plane ticket and worth every penny.

When we first moved to the area I had several bad experiences at other kennels. I finally asked my vet for a recommendation and they referred us to My Ownly. I have always been grateful for that referral. The staff at My Ownly are knowledgeable and well trained. They know how to work with my dogs and I have absolute trust that they are being well cared for when I leave them there. Even though we have recently moved I still drive the extra distance as I know that I have found a kennel that I can trust staffed with people who know what they are doing and really care. I have come to view My Ownly kennel as part of the family when it comes to a place for my pets to visit their friends when I have to travel.

The staff at MyOwnly is caring and knowledgeable. We have used this kennel for years with several of our dogs. They have helped us with an elder dog, with a puppy, and even with a dog in heat. They go out of their way to assist you and to make sure the dogs are healthy and safe. Their rates are comparable with other facilities (meaning the dog boarding can cost the same as the plane ticket), but the comfort factor we have with that facility makes the rates a good deal. They have big hearts!
