Carla's Hair Salon

Always a pleasurable experience at Carla's. The staff is thoroughly professional and courteous. I always feel as if they go the extra mile to make sure that I am satisfied with my hair cut as well as the service. No establishment can be so consistently good for years without the owners setting the tone, and they clearly do. They are often visible and greet everyone with smile. The atmosphere, while certainly professional, is also jovial and positive. It is quite apparent that the employees enjoy working there, which you can't say about many salons. The extra touches, like the hand massages, are a plus whenever I am there. I have visited other establishments that may look good on paper and even promise a good experience, but Carla's has consistently delivered over the years. They have grown to provide additional services and have only gotten better. They most definitely have earned my loyalty.

I asked for layers and I received my hair chopped in a thick straight line. I have very thick hair so i need layers to tame it.

I went to another salon and they fixed the terrible cut.

The prices here are ridiculous. The employeescouts are too young to have any experience.

I've read the reviews and decided to come here. I usually go to Deva Chan in White Plains, but worked all day and wanted the convenience of being close to home and I saw some of the reviews.



My experience was VERY, VERY BAD.



I did not get a complimentary hand massage, although I saw another woman getting one.

I had gone in for highlights but got a flash highlight and a root touch up.... they didn't tell me what the flash was and I'm not really experienced in this area, so I was surpised at the little amount of coloring that was done.



When another girl was washing my hair she got some of the dye in my eye (which burned for a while after, and gave me a cloth covered with dye to pat my eye dry). Because she was in a rush, she was very rough she splashed the water in my face and pulled my hair a lot to control where to move my head. I am an OLDER woman and don't move as quickly, so this hurt me a lot.

They told me after my dye was done that they didn't have time to blow dry my hair since I didn't schedule it. I have never heard of not being able to blow dry my hair after adding color. My curls will hide the actual color, it may be too light or too dark and most people have it straightened to see the color. They told me to come back another time if I wasn't happy.



I had to go home and blow dry my own hair to see the color.... which could have been LIGHTER. But I won't be going back. There is hair dye all around my face and on my arms. It was a sloppy, brutal job.



My cousin is getting married and I suggested my sister and some friends come here, but not after the unprofessional experience I had. For NYC prices I will stick with Deva Chan in White Plains. I will not go back....ever!
