Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Scott Freeman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who trained under the direction of Drs. John Zitelli and David Brodland in a Mohs Surgery, Cutaneous Oncology, and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship. The training is officially approved by the American College of Mohs Surgery and the AMA’s Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Freeman brings more than a decade of experience in Mohs Surgery.

Skin Cancer
I was diagnosed with melanoma at 22 years old during my first year of medical school at Georgetown.Â Â It was among the scariest times in my life, and was the number one deciding factor in my choice of specialty.Â I’ve found my passion in treating skin cancer patients and their families. Since that time, I have had a second melanoma and over a dozen skin surgeries.Â I’ve quite literally been in my patient’s chair, and I think it helps me to empathize with them on a deeper level than some others can.Â I try to treat every one of my patients like a member of my extended family. â€
Dermatology
Sunrise Dermatology, with offices locations in Mobile and Daphne, recently announced the addition of Brittany Johnson to its clinical team. As a nurse practitioner practicing since January 2020, Johnson began her career by earning an associate degree in nursing at Bishop State Community College. She went on to earn a BS in nursing from the University of Alabama. She also holds an MS in nursing from the University of Mobile and holds a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing. Johnson is also an adjunct nursing instructor at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Biloxi and an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Alabama Society of Dermatology Professionals and Bay Area Nurse Practitioner Association. Johnson is now accepting new patients at the Sunrise Mobile office.
