Aventine At Miramar

We left our unit on November 20th. Per Florida law, they had up to 15 days to impose a claim on our deposit. They sent a letter dated November 24th to my forwarding address with their claim. They would have then had 30 days from that date to get our money back to us. So December 24th. Well December comes and goes, and there is no sign of our $.



I call, confirm my address, and am assured it is on the way. My roommate called on January 12th. They said it was in the mail and that it would arrive at my forwarding address no later than January 14th.



January 14th comes and goes. No money. So I got the ball rolling with my lawyer, who sent a demand letter to Aventine.



My attorney had them re-issue a check and I was FINALLY able to get our deposit back in FEBRUARY. MONTHS late.



I truly believe had I not gotten a lawyer involved, that we would not have seen a single penny of our deposit. I have to wonder - and feel sorry for - any poor former residents on whom this crap has worked.

Don't do it. Terribly thin walls. Savage neighbors. Unorganized management. Inadequate staff and security. Unregistered guests entering through exit gates as residents leave, resulting in crime throughout the community. Tried to speak to management about it,, but no effort from them

STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN! I was a resident for 1 yes 1 month and the management agreed to break the 12 month lease. The apartment unit was in an unlivable horrendous condition when i moved in and it took going to the leasing office daily for them to try and do anything about it. Let me start in the beginning. I was promised free security alarm, free cable, and free gate access. the security alarm must be registered that s $50, the cable boxes were stolen from my front step and ended up costing me $60, and the gate access for 2 cars ended up costing me $80. ALL HIDDEN FEES! Next roving (profanity) poor security guards harassed me and my family on moving day because a U-Haul was parked in front of my unit, in front of my garage, not blocking the flow of traffic. The apartment had an unbearable pet feces & urine odor. There was pet hair and feces all throughout the garage. leaky sink, no hot water for 3 days, holes in the vanity room a next to mirrors (a great place to put hidden cameras), urin all over the master bathroom floor, toilet and tub, mold & mildew between the tub tiles, a broken and pulled out of the tub bathtub stopper, no AC for 2 days, no filter in the vent, very poor air flow from the AC vent in the 2nd (child s bedroom), missing screen door, broken/bent blinds, broken outdoor electrical cover, burnt out light bulbs, water damage on the walls and possible celling. I have more than enough photos to support all of this! I was suckered out of all the moving costs (in and out), administrative fees, application fees, hidden fees (previously mentioned), and 1 month of rent. I remain optimistic that I will get my security deposit back in less than 30 days of moving out of this (profanity) hole. Save yourself from my nightmare. I am seeking legal advice for all of other fees that Aventine kept (Breaking the lease was at no fault of mine yet I pay the price!)

When I first moved into Aventine it was nice .... for the first month! After that it all went downhill. The screens for the windows were all broken when we moved in and they promised it would be fixed right away, I lived there for a year and it never got fixed so I could never open my windows! Our water heater broke on a friday morning and they wouldn't fix it until monday because it wasn't an "emergency" so we had freezing cold water to shower with all weekend! Parking there is absolutely horrible. The leasing office told me to park along the curb if there were no spots, and then I got a parking ticket from Miramar Police! Then they told us to park by the leasing office so I started parking there and then security told me that if I park there they will tow my car! To top all of that off I moved out of there 3 months ago and still have not received my security deposit back although they keep saying that I will get it back soon! They also NEVER answer the phones in the leasing office. I once called 12 times in a row nobody answered so I drove there walked into the leasing office and they're all just sitting there talking to each other! Did I mention that the security gates NEVER work!!! Security once told me to go through the exit gate because the entrance gate didn't work so I did and the gate closed on my car and scratched up my entire left side of my car! When I went to the board about them paying for damages they said its not there fault the gate shut on me so I'm responsible!!! Save yourself the trouble and don't move here because it will be nothing but problems!!

i have lived here for over 2 years, this place is not safe, there have been hubcaps stolen, mail stolen, car vandalized, ups and fed ex packages stolen, shootings, breakins, murder, i have seen drug use by the lake, with over 2000 people living here you are just a number, nobody will listen to you, i have complained about a noisy neighbor for over 1 year, leasing property manager or property manager wont do nothing, i have been told to move out and pay for breaking my lease, i have had car towed away because my driveway was blocked, neighbors use my trash can, dented garage door, have stray pets and no one will do nothing. go somewhere else, my friend lived in a 3 story building, one day dog poop was all over the hallway and also on his front door, maintenance told him it was not their job to clean it up. cant wait to move to cooper city or davie. managers and security companies dont last either, i have seen my share of managers come and go, you will get familiar seeing miramar cops come in almost daily.

Aventine at Miramar is a wonderful place to live, I have enjoyed my stay there.
