Maintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, which includes oral examinations and cleanings. Even with excellent care, however, teeth and gums can be susceptible to disease, infection, cavities, cracks, or other forms of damage.
X-rays
Preventive and diagnostic services are designed to ward off future problems and to catch any emerging issues right away. These include check-ups, cleanings, and dental X-rays.
A dental sealant is an excellent way to protect the back teeth from cavities and decay. These teeth are most at risk because of their deep grooves, coupled with the fact that they can be tough to clean due to their position in the back of the mouth. The first molars emerge at approximately 5 to 7 years of age, while the second molars come in when the child is around 11 to 14 years old. Dental sealant should be placed soon after each set emerges.

Bridges
Dental Bonding
Cosmetic dentistry is designed to enhance the appearance of the smile. In children, the most common cosmetic procedure is dental bonding.
Restorative Dentistry
Restorative dentistry helps preserve natural teeth. The goal of restorative dentistry is to restore the function and integrity of the tooth structure, function, and health, while maintaining a natural appearance.
Periodontics is the dental specialty that deals with the hard and soft tissues that support teeth. Periodontal disease refers to gum disease. Periodontal procedures are usually performed to save or rebuild the jaw bone and/or gums in order to save teeth or allow for the placement of dental implants.
Pedodontics, or pediatric dentistry, refers to dentistry for children. It is important to take care of a child’s first teeth, their primary teeth, because they aid in speech development, allow food to be properly chewed, and maintain space for permanent teeth. It is also important to develop good lifelong dental habits early on. Oral Surgery
Although off the shelf and boil and bite mouthguards provide some protection, custom mouth guards are the only solution that is entirely fitted to the child’s mouth. This ensures easy, comfortable breathing and speaking, and maximizes the level of protection. We will take dental impressions and craft a mouth guard specifically for your child. Although custom mouth guards are highly recommended for all athletes, they are absolutely essential for kids who wear braces.
Sinsational Smile is the original 20-minute in-office teeth whitening system. Sinsational Smile uses fast and effective technology with a pre-filled silicone tray. This allows the jaw to remain relaxed and comfortable throughout the treatment.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Our office also specializes in cosmetic dentistry. This means that we not only pay attention to the health and function of your teeth, but we also pay close attention to aesthetics. We want you to maintain great oral health but we also want you to have a beautiful smile and the confidence to smile often!
General Dentistry
Though originally from the mountain west, I attended Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha followed by an additional year of residency as part of Idaho’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. Since that time, I have worked to enhance my clinical skills and have had the opportunity to practice dentistry in both Montana and Idaho.
