Beware. Car wash left 3 dents on front fender and then claimed the dents were from "door dings." On a fender. Because we'd left the premises, rude manager would not accept any liability. Took the car to a body shop who stated 100% sure damages were caused there. Make sure you check your vehicle before you leave, or better yet, DO NOT GO HERE.

Do not take your car to Brookdale Car Wash. This place is run by cheats and scam artists who will rip you off. They will overcharge you to wash your car and then top it off by not performIng the services for which they are overcharging you.

I drive a Prius C. This is the smaller model Prius and it is one of the smallest cars sold in America. The Prius C has 87 cu ft of passenger volume and 17 cu ft of cargo volume. Compare that to a Chevy Impala which has 105 cu ft of passenger volume alone. Or a Toyota Camry which has 103 cu ft.

I took my Prius C to Brookdale Car Wash on Friday, September 26. The service attendant circled the Truck/SUV/Oversized Vehicle price to wash my Prius. I showed this to the attendant and smiling said, "I think you made a mistake here." He replied that it wasn't a mistake and that they charge the Oversized price for all hatchback cars.

Huh? I wasn't charged this price the last time I had my Prius C washed at Brookdale Car Wash. In fact, I don't remember ever being charged extra to have my hatchback Prius washed here before.

I went inside and asked the cashier about the policy of charging more to wash hatchbacks and asked when the policy started. She Replied she was new and didn't know (but she could show off her newly painted nails to customers). She said I could speak to a manager if I liked and paged the managers on duty.

After waiting several minutes, one of the managers (Mike?) appeared. I asked him why I was being charged the Oversized Vehicle price for my tiny Prius C. He said my car is a hatchback and Brookdale Car Wash charges extra for hatchbacks. I asked him when this policy went into effect as I couldn't recall being charged this price before. He said last year. I then asked if it made sense to charge more to wash my Prius C which is smaller than the Chevy Impala and Toyota Camry currently being worked on the drying bay. He said hatchback customers expect that the cargo area will be vacuumed. This is extra work and justifies the need for the extra charge. I said that didn't make sense and asked why attendants simply don't ask customers if they want their cargo area vacuumed. If they do, charge more. If don't, charge the normal price. He said that the policy at Brookdale Carwash is to vacuum the cargo area of all hatchbacks and to thus charge more for washing hatchbacks no matter the hatchback's size.

Fine. I wasn't getting anywhere and I didn't want to make a scene.

When I picked up my Prius C, the workmanship was shoddy at best. Dust still covered the radio faceplate and instrument panel. Dog hair was still on the dashboard and seats. When I pulled out of the drying bay and into the sunlight, the windows were smudged and streaked. And for the coup de grace, when I got home I checked the cargo area and IT HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED! The dog hair and straw wrapper that were on the carpet of the cargo area when I dropped it off were still in the cargo area!

This isn't shoddy workmanship. This is fraud. This is a ripoff. Brookdale Car Wash is run by cheats and scam artists. Do not take your car to Brookdale Car Wash.

Dissapointed

They say write a positve review but you dont get positive service! My first time experience was very upsetting. When I pulled in I guess I went in the wrong lane and I could hear the workers saying "Dumb a** non reading people" They were complaining about how cold it was and why do people get their car washed when it is cold. Its not our faults they picked that job. They were very rude so when I went to pay I told the cashier that the staff was very rude and she called the manager in GUESS WHAT! the guy who came in was the same one that was saying all that stuff so he asked me who was it and I looked at him and said"wern't YOU just out ther? To top it all off I paid $18.00 for the ultimate wash and when I got my car back The windows were smeared,I did not get air freshner, the dashboard and console were not wiped. I then got to work and called and asked for a number for the manager's manger number and the woman told me that there is only one manager for that store. This type of service is unacceptable and I will be speaking with someone with a higher authority! If someone knows a number for the coorporate office please e-mail me.

Beware Of Wheel Damage

I recently used this car wash and tire guide damaged both the front and back tires on the drivers side of my car. When I pointed this out to the manager present, he denied any wrongdoing and basically called me a liar. He then put me in touch with the general manager who I met with a few weeks later (as I was out of town prior to this). Again, I was dismissed and told he runs a clean operation and this could not have happened at his location. When I pointed out that the damage is at the exact height of his tire guides the general manager told me there was no way I could prove the damage occured at Brookdale Car Wash. This is the kind of customer service you can expect.
