I contact the head instructor for private lesson and he directed me on the Superstar program. It is $60 for 8 lessons in group with one instructor and sometimes 2 instructors, staying out of the pool.

My 6 years old son obtained 3rd level (out of 6 at the YMCA), enjoyed the January-February 2011. He was considered at the end as a novice swimmer by the Schroeder instructor. Our son has asthma and Shroeder team told us that swimming is good for kid with asthma.

For the March-April 2011, my son refused to enter in the pool at the 4th lesson. We tried the 5th without success. The instructor totally ignored him and my husband and I who tried to invite our son to go over his refusal.

I asked the head instructor a refund and after e-mails, I received $25, that is 3.33 lessons. I guess I have to be happy to have this refund. Nevertheless, I wrote that I was hoping the instructor to " cheer" the kid up. The head instructor answered that" it is not our instructors job to try to "cheer" a child up in order to get them in the water. If they do not want to swm, they should not be in the program. This is not a learn to swim program, but a novice swim team. Also when time is spent to try to get someone just to get in the pool, it takes away attention from the kids that are eager to get in the water."

I get the point of "take away attention" other kids and perhaps my English is not good enough to have chosen the word "cheer up" but I guess " invitation" And synonyms can work...

I know they are the best swimming club in WI, so they don't have to run to find parents to pay their lesson, still the friendliness is quiet interesting when they are challenged by a kid who is feeling in Failure...
