As an amateur photographer with aspirations of becoming pro, I needed to invest in some high end photo equipment. I began my search for the best deals as I always do; searching throughout the internet. After all, the best deals are found online, right?



I thought if I found the equipment I needed online I could always go to a local dealer and see the products before I made my virtual purchase. Being new to the area, I discovered the only "local" dealer (I reside in Shields) was in Midland. I called Meier Camera Shop for directions and within the hour was speaking to the owner, Jerry Meier. It was a trip well worth taking, one I'll never regret.



Jerry and I talked at length about my goals, my needs and my budget. I quickly came to realize the the best internet "deal" couldn't compete with the value of doing business with a trusted, honest and knowledgeable dealer. I ordered the lion's share of my gear that day from Jerry. Upon arrival of my equipment, Jerry called to inform me my order was in. When I arrived at Meier Camera Shop, he unpacked all of my equipment, explaining all of the features of my camera (Nikon D300), the three lens, the tripod, etc. Service one could never find with an internet purchase.



I've had the pleasure of returning to Meier's several times to order more gear and to listen to Jerry's advice. Over the course of several months, I've had the opportunity to watch Jerry interact with many customers and found that he is genuinely concerned with the success of all his customers. Whether you're a casual point and shoot person, amateur or pro, Jerry gladly shares his years of experience and expertise to help you become a better photographer.



I would strongly recommend Meier Camera Shop to anyone who may be in the market for photography equipment, repair, film, lighting, backdrops, etc. Also, I would caution anyone looking to purchase professional equipment online: Doesn't only make sense to buy professional from a professional? I know that my experience is not the exception, it's the rule with Jerry.
