Overall
Not living up to its reputation

On a recent visit for the 35 blackened shrimp, I was disappointed. They were soggy and not even warm. Fries were old also. Service was even slow. Tartar sauce came 1/2 way through the dinner.
The new Ale House on US 1 and 136th Street is much better. Drive the extra miles and get fresher food.

Didn't get to eat the stake, because when I ordered Onion Rings, Mozzarella sticks, and loaded Fries as appetizers for my wife and I it was like 10 lbs of food, we were so full we canceled plans for stake and lobster. I'm 278 lbs and buffets lock their doors when I walk by and I have to tell you I've never seen a place give you such a big portion of food... I will definitely go again but next time skip the appetizers...I gotta have that stake.

Overall
"WORST PLACE EVER"

I went there late just to have some appetizers and drinks with my husband. We sat down immediately because it was about midnight, not too busy at that time for tables. After sitting for 15 mins., the waitress shows up, not presentable at all. She looked dirty as if she hadn't shower for weeks. She takes down our order which was only a soup, a sampler dish and a dip with chips, a soda and a glass of beer. After 40 more mins. of waiting, we called the waitress to ask her for our drinks and with a rude attitude she dosen't even stop to find out what we wanted instead she flies by us saying "I'll go check on your order". When she comes back, she brings our drinks and tells us that they were out of the soup we ordered. We were in shock. We asked her why she didn't tell us sooner so we could order a different soup and why did it take so long to bring our drinks. Her responds was again, in a rude attitude that it was really busy. We asked to speak to the manager. The manager was worst than her, the nastiest, horrible attitude I have ever seen for a manager. The waitress shows up with the appetizers and a different soup. He had the nerve to ask us why we were so upset at the fact that they were out of the soup. We told him that it was not the reason, it was the waitresses attitude and the service she's providing. He continued showing us an attitude. We told him to just give us the check for the drinks because we were not staying to eat. He walked away with no politeness and no apologies what so ever and made us wait for the check. After 10 mins. waiting, we stand up to walk away because it was obvious that he just didn't care and wanted to be give us a hard time. Mind you, we only had sips of the drinks, we begin to walk out to leave and he starts running after us yelling at us to come back to pay for the drinks. This was the worst, worst, place we have ever been too. We will never go back there again. My advice is to stick to the small family owned restaurants if you want good service and good food because Ale House's food is nothing but commercial food, nothing to brag about and definitely not worth the wait and abuse.
