Overall
Great price and good service

My family and I have used Rapido Cargo to ship to Honduras before it is one of the best companies!! They deliver in the amount of time they tell you!! By the way the reason they must open packages is that they have to verify what you say you are sending. I don't know if many of you are familiar with export and import legal issues but in Honduras if you are bringing merchandise in for resale you are "taxes" by customs at a different rate and it only makes sense since it is not for personal use but for profit. Also the reason they check packages is because they are liable for anything that is shipped under the company name. I know people that have had import & export company to other countries besides Honduras and have seen themselves in big trouble for trusting the sender and not checking their packages. This companies provide us a service and we must understand that not only are the dealing with the laws of the US but also those of the countries where we are shipping to. In the end Rapido Cargo has been much less expensive than UPS, FEDEX and Gigante Express (who also ships to Honduras).

Overall
so far so good

I called them. They work on a schedule. They come to your house. You tell honestly what you have without being nervous. I wrote the address on the box. I gave them two phone numbers where they were going to ship it. You claim over there and you have people over here in case they should do something in the event things go missing. I

Overall
Humiliating Cargo

Whenever a person wishes to send a package elsewhere is great to know that there are places who can do such thing at affordable prices. Rapido Cargo advertises $0.70 pr pound if you deliver to their location in NW Miami and $0.75 if they pick it up at the customers house. However, noone tells you that such price will vary depending on what you are sending out. I understand they must ask if you are sending out anything flammable or parishable. However, everyone should know that they will open your package and they will seach the inside of it. HOW HUMIALIATING!!!!

My experience: I showed up the cargo men greeted me promptly and carried the boxes towards the scale. Then a woman who lacked a smile and a greeting asked me "what are you sending?" My ID wanted to say "none of your business" but my superego nervously answered "personal stuff." It's not that I wanted to lie, but I just did not want to share my business with a stranger who I did not trust. She looked inside and measure the sizes of my boxes and charged me by volume. It's not that don't agree with the price. Yet, if they had told me over the phone that they charge by volume I would have been ok with that as long as they don;t take a look inside. May I remind everyone that Rapido Cargo does not work for customes in any country.

As I stand there waiting to finish my transaction another customer entered the warehouse and his box was opened. The woman assisting him opened the box and when she saw the amount of boxes shoes she said: "clearly you have a shoe buisiness therefore I must charge you by volume and not by pound." She measured his box and yelled "$ 80.00."

The man pick up his box and took his business elsewhere. Well done I thought. I should have done the same.

What does it matter if the stuff we send is for a business or personal use? and if it does matter then they should be open to advertise it that way. Hey! Pick a price and stick to and don't expect customers to open up thier boxes for you.

By the way, if time is important your packages will arrive in Honduras in 10-12 days and they will deliver at your relatives home address. That is a plus if you are on a hurry and you don;t mind the lack of greetings and smiles that are part of customer service representatives. Let's not forget you shouldn't mind the humiliation of opening your packages to total strangers.
