Overall

It hardly seems worth my time writing a review of Ace since they already have a perfectly awful rating here. However, I promised the clerk at Ace that I would write a review so I feel like I should follow through. My flight was supposed to land at 8 p.m. last Friday so I booked a car for 8 p.m., not knowing how long it would take to get to their distant lot. By the time I retrieved my luggage, walked a half mile to the MIA Mover, rode the MIA Mover to the Car Rental Center, found absolutely no signs for Ace Rental Car, asked two workers from other companies how to get to Ace, waited 20 minutes for the Ace shuttle and rode the shuttle to their lot, it was then 9:30. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was no line at the counter. I gave my name to the man behind the counter and he told me hold on a minute. He walked out front and started talking to the shuttle driver. He came back in and told me that they only hold reservations for ONE HOUR! Since my reservation was for 8:00 and it was now 9:30, they had rented my car to someone else. The best they could do was to drive me back to the car rental center where I could get in of the long lines at other car rental counters and start the process all over again.

Just don't do it...

To whom it may concern:



Your office was filthy, the staff was less than courteous, the restroom was appalling.



I was charged for $3 more than the reservation amount, and when I asked why the overcharge I was told "oh, well, the website must has miscalculated the tax." You are obligated to rent the car for the reservation price, since it's your website that miscalculated the price. No apology was offered, and no option for resolving this dispute was made available.



The car I rented reeked of smoke, the steering wheel was grimy, and the car clearly had not been cleaned in some time. When I was asked upon checking out how everything was, I told the man that the car was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. He offered no apology, and instead just ignored me.



On the shuttle return to the airport, the driver was jabbering away on her cell phone on a personal call the entire time she was driving. She did not offer to help me with my bags, didn't open the door for me, and generally made it clear that I was inconveniencing her by needing a ride to the airport.



I will not rent from you again, and I will be posting negative reviews about my experience on travel sites. People should be warned that they are dealing with a company that has lower than third world standards.
