        Best Home Cookin' in the Universe!

        Jean's is an institution in Meridian. Fortunately when the original owner, Jean, decided to retire one of her employees took over the business. The cooks in the kitchen know what they are doing and they do it right every week day. They are open Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch. It is worth planning a trip there to experience the great home cookin'!
        I have only been able to have lunches so far but they are delicious! Every day of the week they have different entrees and vegetables/sides. Some stay the same but for example Friday is fried catfish day. Don't miss it!!! I don't usually eat fried catfish but theirs is to die for. Their fried green tomatoes is another dish not to miss. I think they make them on Wednesday. Another dish that is excellent is the squash casserole. Be sure to save room for dessert......their lemon icebox pie is irresistible! It's easy to get to if you're driving through on I-20. It's just about 10 blocks north of the Interstate. You may have to wait for a table but believe me it's worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!
