DO NOT GO TO MIDSTATE ER!!!... I brought my pre-diabetic mother there because she was very sick with symptoms of diabetic shock, they made sure they got her insurance info. preformed a EKG scan and then made her get dressed and go sit in in a waiting area inside the ER for 4 HOURS!!... FINALLY I JUST TOOK HER HOME BECAUSE SHE WAS GETTING WORSE AND NOBODY WOULD HELP HER!!! While getting her up she COLLAPSED AND HAD A SEISURE!!!! THE ENTIRE THING COULD HAVE BEEN TOTALLY PREVENTED IF SHE WASIN"T COMPLETELY IGNORED FOR 4 ENTIRE HOURS!!!! MY POOR MOTHER WENT THROUGH HELL AND WAS LEFT TO ALMOST DIE BECAUSE OF THERE LACK OF PATIENT CARE!!!... AND DID I MENTION THAT THE ER WAS COMPLETELY "EMPTY"?? I TOOK PICTURES OF ALL THE EMPTY ROOMS AND EMPTY NURSES STATION "JUST IN CASE" THEY WERE NEEDED, WHICH THEY WILL BE IN OUR LAWSUIT AGAINST THE HOSPITAL!!!!.... DO NOT EVER GO TO THE ER IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY ILL OR DON'T HAVE 6 - 8 HOURS TO WASTE!!!!!!

Horrible hospital, And if you owe any portion of the bill not covered by insurance, prepare for an on going harassment of lawyers and court dates for payment, Saving lives is not their business , counting pennys like loan sharks is there claim to fame, most people come out sicker than when they go in , I did three seperate time, finally wen to a real hospital.... STAY AWAY FOM THIS ONE UNLESS THE STATE MONEY IS PAYING FOR YOU< THAT THEY LOVE

Gotta agree with the rest of you. Spent a week wasting in that place... would never go back.

leaves a lot to be desired. doctors could careless. do not seem to want to be bothered. nurses need major attitude adjustments. at least learn to be civil to people.

I REMEMBER I BROUGHT MY HUSBAND TO MIDSTATE BECAUSE HE WAS KNOCKED UNCONSIOUS WHEN MOVING AND HE WENT TO MIDSTATE AND THEY DISCHARGED HIM AFTER AN HOUR, AND I HAD TO RUSH MY HUSBAND TO HARTFORD HOSPITAL A HALF HOUR AFTER HE WAS DISCHRAGED FROM MIDSTATE BECAUSE HE HAD WENT UNCONSIOUS.!!!!!!!!!! MIDSTATE JUST LET HIM GO WITHOUT EXAMINING HIS HEAD OR SEE IF HE HAD A CONCUSSION.....AND I HAVE HAD MANY FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES WHO HAVE GONE TO MIDSTATE FOR MINOR REASONS AND HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED WITH MAJOR PROBLEMS. THIS HOSPITAL IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS I WOULD NEVER REFERR ANYONE ON THEIR SICK BED TO WALK INTO MIDSTATE BECAUSE YOU WILL NEVER SEE THEM AGAIN!!!!!!!!

EVEN ON SOMEONES GOOD DAY I WOULD TELL THEM TO GO TO A DIFFERNT HOSPITAL BECAUSE MIDSTATE DOESNT TAKE CARE OF ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO FEELS THIS WAY ABOUT MIDSTATE BUT I WILL BE THE ONE TO WARN OTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT COME TO MERIDEN AND GET HURT BECAUSE MIDSTATE WONT HELP YOU OUT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!

Would never bring either of my children to Midstate's Emergency Room again. After being in the emergency room for more than 3 hours, my son was sent home with a fracture wrist and displaced bone in his wrist. Instead of calling in an orthopedic doctor, we were sent home and told to see one the next day.
